Any idea when the replacements for Emily Mannix or Maddy Proud will be announced?
Lightning has confirmed its training squad for 2025.
Welcome back to Maddie Hinchliffe, Shannon Eagland, Baylee Boyd, Jada Delaney, Jordon Webb & Lachlan Carter, who will be joined by newest recruits Nat Sligar, Rylee Burns and James Schmarr 💪

Another Firebird off to Lightning in Rylee Burns!
Also, Zoe Cransberg announced aa Fever’s 11th player. Good midcourt depth and she’s such a talented player.
Team Girls Cup confirmed to be in Adelaide 14-16 March!
The Swifts have signed Verity Simmons. Did not see that coming!
VERITY SIMMONS RETURNS TO SSN 🙌 @SuperNetball
A two-time Premiership winner and Australian Diamond, Verity joins as a permanent replacement in 2025 for Co-Captain Maddy Proud who is expecting her first child.

Pretty handy linking player to Nweke with her experience of feeding JFN.
Would be nice to see some younger players signed but I am impressed with the smarts of these teams opting to back in experience in the short term.
do people not rate Lilli Gorman brown?
I felt that she showed real potential and i am surprised swifts didnt back her in.
They clearly want experience.
As much as Nweke is a superstar, she is still going to have to learn SSN quickly so having players around her that know the game well and can adapt quickly is super important.
Swifts have chosen to sign a second (mainly) specialist WD so they don’t have much flexibility in attack and they will want their D to improve next year.
I just don’t think LGB gives them enough confidence that she will be able to perform for 60 minutes every week yet.
Whilst I understand Swifts lack options at WA -C in their 10 I would have liked to see them back in a young player. NSW is the powerhouse of Australian netball. You can’t tell me they don’t have an outstanding young player ready to step up?
Australian netball in general has some phenomenal young talent that will be pushing for Diamonds in the next few years after they’ve been backed in by their clubs (Mi Mi, Mundy, Walters, Sligar, Williams, Black etc). Surely there was someone in NSW ready to go?
Interesting to read that Verity reached out to the club…not the club reaching out to her.
NSW is a powerhouse but only three of the Swifts 12 are from NSW by my count.
I kind of understand why Swifts signed Verity. Like others have mentioned, they are obviously going for experience.
I think the other factor is, Nweke “may” only be there for one season. Instead of developing someone, they will want to capitalise by going for experience. In saying that, I wouldn’t have gone for Simmons. I would have tried to get Kelsey Browne, if she was available.
