Have to feel for Nyah Allen. Huge opportunity and she is injured. Cant catch a break.
McDonald has been mainly playing WA /C in VNL so interesting choice. She does prefer a feeding game though so would be happy to feed Jok.
Thread for Round 3:
Just saw the Ruth Aryang has ruptured achilles, gutted for her, but somewhat convenient for Fever…?
Terrible news for Ruth and Achilles can be really gnarly to come back from.
That’s just awful for Ruth. Also puts her out of the World Youth Cup.
Why convenient for Fever?
They can potentially bring back JFN and keep MJ in their 10 – but not sure they will keep both plus Wilkinson, Beckford as well as ATN shooting
convenient in the sense that they now have an opening for JFR to come back into the team with out causing an uproar of demoting Kumwenda when she uprooted her family to move across the country – they were already defence heavy so they don’t need to replace Ruth with another defender
Tbh even if they keep MJ in the 10 once JFN is back I can’t imagine she’d get much/any court time unless JFN isn’t fully match fit yet? If she could play out at goal attack as well I’d say keep her in the ten but idk there’s not really room for 2 shooters who only play GS once Fowler is back?
If I was MJ and was still receiving the full salary she originally signed for (which I’ve read is the case) I’d probably rather play in the reserves and find a state league team to play for rather than sitting behind Jhanielle for the rest of the year.
Devastated for Ruth was really excited to see her grow this season.
Fever were defense heavy (four circle defenders) and now with ATN playing some GA they have decent coverage across both defense and attack wonder if they may go a midcourter?
Whilst i didn’t love the dropping off MJ after she moved her family interstate there is clearly a great culture over their and lots of support
They’ll possibly bring Zoe Cransberg in I think. As bad as it is for Kumwenda, I don’t see a spot for her when Jhaniele is back.
It’s really sad for Ruth Aryang.
