So it’s Wilson not Facey, interesting! She’s very little experience. She’s the player that got sent off in the VNSL. Under good coaching she’ll be amazing but I don’t think Thunderbirds is the right place for her.
Tbh I don’t know why they’ve gone for ANOTHER import. This signing just screams panic imo, they let Shimmin go, then they find out that Guscoth is going back home. Regardless it will be good for Sterling as she’ll probably feel more settled.
The Thunderbirds team for 2021 is complete with the signing of Latanya Wilson

Oh. So not Facey. I really thought Thunderbirds would sign someone a little more experienced in GD because that helps Sterling settle also, as we saw with Guscoth out at GD. I think Thunderbirds will, without a doubt, take out the wooden spoon in 2021. A Really poor contracting period from them.
Actually, now that I think about it, despite not being a Blackman fan, they would have been better off signing her on and working on her development since the GD import is also very young and inexperienced. But I guess it might have been a signing that also helped keep Sterling here so maybe they couldn’t really do that. Bit of a mess of a roster, doesn’t feel balanced in terms of expeience.
I think it is all starting to make sense now. Just seen Chelsea Pitmans post on Insta, sharing her story on having 2 miscarriages ❤️ The first one was on tour with the Roses, and the 2nd at the beginning (I think) of the SSN season.
I’m thinking maybe this is the reason why she wasn’t offered a contract?
If so, I really don’t know how I feel about that. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand it as a franchise.Am I wrong in thinking, by not offering her a contract (which IMO she had a good season), highlights the lack of support to female athletes?
This is purely speculation on my behalf. But in my opinion, she should have been one of the 10 that got another contract. And surely have a backup plan for if she did fall pregnant again? Hence why you have training partners 🤷♂️
Love to hear others opinion on this!
I just saw those posts yesterday! I really hope the Thunderbirds didn’t decide to no re-sign her in an attempt to avoid signing a player who could become pregnant. But if a controversial issue there
Just sent out, but not online yet:
Dear Members,
I am writing to advise you all that after seven fruitful years with Netball SA our General Manager of Netball Megan Wooldridge has announced her resignation.
After first joining the organisation as Community Program Manager, Megan has held multiple roles over the years and become incredibly well respected internally at NSA and externally across the netball community.
Her passion for our great game has been undeniable and I have no doubt the connections she has built with our members and stakeholders will hold strong even after she leaves NSA.
While we are all incredibly sad to see her go, we wish her all the very best in her next chapter and cannot thank her enough for the many years of dedication and commitment.
Megan will officially finish up on 5th February.
The role of GM of Netball will be advertised this weekend.
We’re excited to announce our five training partners for the 2021 season! 😁 READ: https://t.co/oPcautTrcY #fiercetogether pic.twitter.com/Ex9Jap4lMb

I just realised that Hodges is no longer aligned with an SSN team. What a shame, I think if she was given a solid chance she could have made it.

Hodges should move to the Sunshine Coast next year. She’s far stronger than Hunt and Lawrie in my opinion. Proscovia may not stick around that much longer either. She’s clearly not rated by the T’birds for whatever reason.
Think she may be living, working and playing netball in country SA this year from what I can see on Instagram
Not the way we wanted to start our 2021 season.
