Amigene Metcalfe to step down as Magic coach after ANZ Premiership season https://t.co/jpsFng5Tx4 pic.twitter.com/CnWavXggwz

No surprise.
Don’t think this is quite the moment to promote MJ Araroa.
Is this something that Deb Fuller (yes am throwing names out there) could come in to assist? Not ideal but feel the Magic need an established coach.

I wonder who will be putting forward interest, in being the next Magic coach. Could Rob Wright jump ship? YMD?
I’m struggling to think of any one else.Good luck in your next venture Amigene!
Tania Hoffman is in NZ. Only thing is her VNSL team came bottom of the league, only winning one game!
Perhaps Julie Seymour may get her chance.
Melissa Bessell in NZ too visiting family.
Oh Jan Southby
Southby can stay in her hole lol.
Maybe the winning coach of the NNL can take over. Could be Temepara?
Whoever takes on the job. Recruitment must be savage. I would drop more than half the team. Some new young blood would be perfect. Someone who is in line with Noelines thought process. Good luck to Magic 2022.
Storm Purvis made a comment on Inside Netball show last night. That the Magic are spread out all over the Waikato, and hardly ever train as a team during the week. Surely from next year they all have to be based in or as close to Hamilton as possible. Non of this do what ever you want crap, and we will meet as a team on game day.
Keep Winders, Fowler, Williams and Tong. And get 6 new players, and the MUST be fit.
From what I read on radio? yesterday Netball NZ will take over the recruitment for next season.
Hard to believe the players don’t train much as a team, although I am sure Purvis is correct. This explains a lot!I guess it does make sense. Metcalfe did play in time when IVD was flying in from Wellington.
Even though she doesn’t have anyone “flying in”, she may still have that old school way of thinking, that it still works?I am so shocked to hear that they do not train regularly together throughout the week. In a team with what appears to be the worst conditioning and connections I guess it explains something.
Ah that explains everything. Because it certainly shows on court.
Why thou? Every other team, the players are all in the same area so why not Magic? NZ (the Waikato) hasn’t grown bigger has it?
Pretty sure it hasn’t in size Minkie – population yes, because those who can are getting out of Auckland to where housing is cheaper!
3hrs to drive from top of Waikato – Pokeno, to Turangi which is bottom of Waikato. Not much longer than driving from West Auckland to Stars training venue in south Auckland at times.
