(Robinhood) Northern Stars – Kiri Wills has re-signed as coach for 2024
Pulse assistant Anna Andrews-Tasola to replace three-time title winning coach
Elle Temu confirmed as NOT playing in NZ next year joining her partner in Sydney (though still eligible for SF’s this year) Noels still expecting to see her in the black dress in the future
Surely it’s Giants for her then, especially if Brandley retires- Switts don’t need another defender fighting for starting 7.
It will be interesting to see where Temu ends up. I guess she could get picked up by Swifts or Giants but I’m not convinced she will. She’d probably be able to get a gig at the F’Birds or the 8th team, but she may be willing to step down to TP/state league if living with her partner in NSW is the priority.
No point leaving the NZ scene to live with bf, but not actually play in the city she lives in.
Going to be quite a bit of player movements. I suspect when Fisher marries her man, she won’t be classed as a import, so possibly some happenings at steel.Wouldn’t Fisher need perm residency (at least?) to not be considered an import? Or is import status based on if you’re available/play for another country? She has indicated she still plans to play for England.
Really hope Tui is picked up by the Magic to (assumedly) pair with Ekenasio. I don’t think one of Tui or Heffernan should be stuck on the bench next season while the other combines with Fisher.
I believe she will have duel citizenship.
With TEMU heading to Aussie, I wonder if we will see Burley back at the Stars? I hope not as a Steel fan.
sorry @steelsuppporter84 just been confirmed Burley to Stars
From watching Burleys socials i got the impression of a bit of home sickness, i believe her boyfriend is still in akl. The stars definitely need some defence power and she looked so frustrated at the steel
.@starsnetballnz have added some serious firepower to their defensive stocks, signing Kate Burley for 2024.

I think the Steel are always going to struggle (especially against
AKL teams) unless NNZ adjusts (slightly) their import rule. There aren’t any NZ defenders to poach with the expected retirements and exits. I could support Fisher (currently still an import) and an international defender playing at the Steel. Is it about time NNZ looked at spreading the talent throughout the competition (after starting 7’s have been picked)? Thinking along the lines of defenders like Amy Christophers, Kate Dowling, etc.. that could start at the Steel or alike. If we are truly to get stronger we need a strong competition from all 6 teams
