Yes! In a way, it puts every team back at square one. 5 weeks to regain lost fitness.
Friday night Netball, exciting. They were looking at Super Sundays. But the Rugby comp is playing one game Sunday arvos.
They won’t clash, be interesting to see that final draw and times they play.Exciting!
Happy netball will be back.I wonder if the first round will count?
Yes, it will have to count. They can’t just abandon it when it was played in good faith with players going just as hard as any regular game.
But the new comp is over 10 weeks, to me it sounds like a new comp. Guess we will find out soon when they do the draw.
The way they talk about it, yes it does sound like a whole new competition, but I would be stunned if the round they already played didn’t count. And it would seem to defeat the purpose of what they’re doing. Why would you shorten the competition if at the same time you don’t count a round already played, therefore making it a week longer than necessary?
I would assume round 1 has been played. Now they will simply play rounds 2-10 and a week of finals.
That’s how I read it Ian….’A 10-week ANZ Premiership season’ I thought it meant 9 weeks of ‘home and away’ games and one week of finals? ie 2 v 3 on Friday night and 1 v winner of 2v3 on Sunday?
It’ll be great to watch it. Well done NZ. Hopefully the SSN isn’t far behind.

In this article, it says the competition will “resume” and that’s what I think it is too.

Sounds like there will be double headers and all teams will still play each other 3 times.
Still unsure how all teams will survive financially without crowds and home games. Might see NNZ need to bail out other teams after all!
So glad netball is back though!
Latu Meafou is back in the country in 14 day iso. Unsure if Marshall will be allowed in as she is not a kiwi.
Other imports are still in the country though so that’s positive.Friday night games might force the teams to use their training partners.
Players have jobs outside of netball, and might not be able to fly to Auckland on Thursday.
Fenwick for example works in a law firm.I don’t see the point in playing each other 3 times. 2 is perfectly fine.

"Having to travel every weekend to Auckland, there's nothing about that that's nice or ideal."
"…If that's what we have to do to get the competition running then we're more than happy to do it."https://t.co/FnmG5mb7GA

Be happy that Netball will be played Ian. I’d say SKY wanted 15rds, and that’s what it will be.
Might be the only Netball in 2020. I have my doubts the greatest Netball comp in the world will happen in 2020.Very confident Super Netball will be played. Just not sure what format it will be in.
Yeah, if NRL and Australian Super Rugby can start, then Suncorp Will start.
Surely they wont have crowds.
I don’t think the players that went home to SA and England will be allowed in though
