Over the past year, issues surrounding diversity and discrimination in the sporting arena have been highlighted in a number of codes.
Despite these incidents, much is being done in the sporting community to challenge discrimination on the field, to better reflect societal values.
And that was the focus of a panel discussion held earlier this year by the University of New South Wales as a feature of its annual Diversity Fest.
Moderated by the ABC’S Paul Kennedy, the Game Changers panel included paralympian Dylan Alcott, Rugby 7s Olympic gold medallist Ellia Green, former Australian Netball Diamond, Sharni Layton, and the NRL’s Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Casey Conway.
