This is Bianca Chatfields rating from a code sports article that I found very interesting I was surprised at the lightnings defence rating id move them to just ahead of swift and I’d move vixens ahead of swifts

I’d also move lightning ahead of mavericks for their midcourt

I’d move the firebirds attack to better than the giants also their midcourt is arguably better than giants

I too think the Swifts defence have been too highly rated there – it’s the same as last year and they kept getting penalised out of the game.

I also think the attack of Fever has been underrated – they performed quite well at Team Girls and I think Wilkinson was a standout player across the weekend.

I think Swifts defence with the addition of Lambden and in particular Nexhip as coach will be very different from last year even though it’s the same personnel

Interesting to look at how many intercepts each team got over TGC as well swifts nearing the bottom whilst having most penalties confirms that their defence are looking to be slightly overrated

Also interesting to see giants mavs and firebirds were the bottom three defensively however had more intercepts than swifts lightning and fever

I rate swifts to have the worst defence in the competition. They weren’t great this season, and won’t be great this season. I don’t even see them in my top 4!! Sorry to be harsh, also having Dylan as assistant coach is an interesting decision. The men’s game is completely different to the women’s as they play a more aerial game not sure if he can add much value to the defence end?

Nexhip is an Elite level coach that has had great success coaching at NNSW Premier League. I don’t think he’s there just because he’s played Men’s at high level?

Will be interesting to see how they go & if they can improve from TGC.
