Someone at NA or SSN seems desperate to get this 2 point shot going. The responses on twitter have been universally negative…
We decided to take a closer look at the 2-point shot and whether it's something we could ever see in the Suncorp Super Netball.
What did you think of Suncorp Super Shot?

Wow Twitter is a NO. Facebook is largely NO. I’m definitely in the NO camp. Do you think that they (SSN or NA) thought they would get a different response after how it was received at the Charity match?
It doesn’t matter what true Netball fans want, but if Channel 9 want the 2 point shot, then that’s what the SSN will have.
Watching Harten, Housby, Philip biff the ball up, and look hopeless is not Netball.
Don’t change something that isn’t broke. :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative:
only 20 of the 45 long shots went in…they were pretty speccy when they swished through the net. I enjoyed reading the pros and cons of the 2 pointer…especially that 1 point is better than 0 and what would happen to those goalers (mostly GS’s) who do little more than stand under the net and put ’em in.
I enjoyed them on the day, and like watching Fast 5, but leave netty alone – the rolling subs are enough of a change.
20/45 2pt shots successful is 44.4%, so equal to shooting at 88.8% in a normal game which many teams already do.
The best was clearly Caitlin Thwaites with 5/7. No one else above 50%. Poor Tegan Philip shot 2/9!
They look great when they go in, but…
Tegan is so hot and cold. When she’s on fire she’s amazing to watch.

I really enjoyed the game, and the spirit it was played in and of course the cause!
But this here…..why didn’t LA play Thwaites in the final minutes of this game, being her final game as a Diamond??
Was she injured, and couldn’t come back on?It made me think, is this part (I would say a very, very, very small part) of the reason why she was dumped as Diamonds coach?
The way she handled dumping Nat Medhurst, apparently wasn’t even good enough to be in the squad. Selecting Rav, even though she was out of form – YES eventually she got dropped, but it took a while.Yes, on twitter, we were all calling for Thwaites to be brought back on for the last few minutes. And I’m sure they were wanting it in the stadium. Instead, she just left Tegan Philip out there and as you can see by the stats, she had a shocker.
Agreed TB! Although Rav was nevered dropped, she decided to take a break herself.
