Hi,
I’m about to enter week 3 of working at home and day 8 (or is that 9) of lockdown. Sometimes feels like i’m losing it already. I’d like to hear your tales. So far I’ve had 3 virtual coffee morning and on Friday I had my first virtual drink up
let me know what you’re doing and where you’re based
i’m in LondonHey there Jinxibo, I’m from New Zealand. Country went into full 4 week lockdown on Wednesday. Very strict only essential services. The Police are enforcing the lockdown well so far.
People are still allowed to go for a walk, run, bike but within their area, 2m apart.
I’m one of the lucky ones that gets to work my usual hours. I do start at about 4.45m, but must go straight home from work.I play Golf, but can’t do that as all golf activites are closed during lockdown, even the driving range.
But it’s all ok, NZ is very lucky to have a forceful Prime Minister. She said country will lockdown, people said ok, it will cost billions, as workers are eligible for a $585 a week from the govt, if they are not allowed to work.
I’m also from NZ. I work from home anyway but as I work for a seniors organisation the next few weeks (if lockdown doesn’t work) could be very hard going.
My hubby is in education and is also working from home.My one trip out each day is to walk our dog for about 30 – 40 mins. Sticking to blocks near home now, no off leash or dog parks anymore as we have to remain in our family bubble and she is part of it. No one else is allowed in including other pets.
Waiting to see if my sons in law lose their jobs and hoping my son and his partner can stay safe in Hobart. They have a baby due end of May and no family support as we can’t get there. Also hoping he keeps his job.
If anybody is struggling with social isolation during lockdowns, please feel free to drop me a private message or contact me via social media.
Aged Care facilities been in lockdown 6 days now, feels like 6 weeks.
Going to be so hard keeping not only our residents spirits up but ourselves. Baby steps every day.
Son and daughterinlaw were stuck in Thailand then Bangkok, very nervous few days. Home now in isolation, had the COVID19 test, thankfully ok, I’ll throttle them soon for causing us so much worry.
Take care everyone.
Beautiful offer Xpert ❤Thanks for the comments.
Had my first experience of lockdown shopping in London yesterday, queued 15 mins to get into Sainsbury. They had rice, pasta and toilet paper but no kitchen roll. It was strange and not many people were following the 2m rule.
Hope your sons are okay work and healthwise MA. Praying your son and wife are safe in Thailand Minkie. Thank you X11 and
Mcleod.
Kids got back to Aus just in time Jinxibo, they had the COVID test and have a few more days of quarratine.
Sad that some in the UK arent taking this seriously. Sadly for Italy and France, NZ and Aus are watching and learning. We’ve closed our borders and our populations aren’t as condensed BUT it’ll still hit us hopefully not as harsh as those countries mentioned. Every morning I wake up and think this COVID is just a nasty dream, then reality hits. In a way even though I worry I’m kind of glad I’ve got to go to work. There’s some normality. For those stuck at home with no work must be driving them mad. Amazing how this has stopped the world in its tracks. Take care everyone- This reply was modified 3 years, 6 months ago by minkie.
