Covid 19 has made its way back to NZ, after 102 days of no community transmission, 4 cases have been confirmed in Auckland.
Auckland will move to level 3 lockdown tomorrow at midday. The rest of the country to level 2.Buggggggerrrr
Let’s hope the three days is all that is required at alert level 2/3.
Oh, how awful. There’s two games in Auckland this weekend.
So lucky we’ve got the two grand finalists sorted, neither of them come from Auckland, and the games’s not going to be played there. Dodged a bullet there!
Yes, I wonder if they cancel the last round. I don’t think any team can move two spots up to play in a different final.
Stars could be third at the end of the season if they won both games and Mystics lost both games.
Magic could be fifth if they won both their games and Steel lost.
Auckland is going into Level 3 restrictions – public facilities, bars, restaurants and businesses in Auckland must close on Wednesday, as will schools unless they have students whose parents are essential workers. Three days ends midday Saturday.
I suppose they can reschedule the 2 Auckland games this weekend, but my understanding is the whole country is going into Level 2 restrictions for three days.
This means – social distancing, good hand-washing regimes, staying home if unwell and wearing a mask in areas where distancing is hard. NO CROWDS!!!
Yikes, from STAGE 4 Lockdown here in Melbourne, best wishes to NZ.
Yes, there’s a chance they may just call the last round off.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Auckland goes to alert level 4 and the rest of the country to either 3 or 4 after the three days. I really hope I am wrong, but it wouldn’t surprise me. As a small business owner, this is going to be so hard.
So sorry Kat…it was going so well.
Last round announced as all draws and each team will be award 2 points
Thankfully grand finalists were already decided last weekNetball NZ has made the challenging decision to declare all upcoming matches in Round 10 as drawn games due to the change in COVID-19 alert levels around the country.

NZ won’t go back to level 4. The country will be more broke than ever.
Lets just hope it’s just a family thing.4 more cases – two are work colleagues of a man who tested positive, and two are related to a household that one of the infected people stayed at.
13 more today + 1 probable = all related to the one family through work or within family/friends.
Predicting level 4 for Auckland from midnight tomorrow for at least two weeks, level 3 for Waikato and Bay of Plenty, 2 for rest of country for now.
Hopefully construction and big infrastructure will be able to continue during this time throughout the country as it is more than possible to maintain distancing etc on massive sites.
I can not see the finals weekend going ahead.
From a frustrated Aucklander
Level 4 is very extreme, I doubt people will do this again. The Govt had 1 chance to get it right.
14 cases is minor, in a city with what 1.5 millionI can see them cancelling the finals and just awarding it to the Pulse.
It’s a waste of time having the finals in Invercargill now as both the Auckland teams wouldn’t be able to attend. No more than 100 people allowed so that’s going to be a struggle with the remaining 4 teams and their staff. Add stadium staff and TV staff and the numbers are getting up there.
