Play the final in Wellington. Why should the comp have a sad ending, because of a few people having very mild covid symptoms.

So Auckland will stay at level 3 until Wednesday 26th August.
The rest of country stays at level 2.
So it would seem very unlikely that the final and playoffs on the 23rd August in Invercargill will take place.
But I see no reason why the final can’t be played. Maybe Netball NZ might bring the date forward and change the venue.
It has to be played with no crowd. I look forward to seeing what happens.

I know Mytics are based in Auckland. Which is the other team? I think that it’s not Steel or Tactix or Pulse? Is it Magic or Stars?

Thanks mcleod. So from memory, its the 3 V 4 teams both from Auckland….could they play 1 v 2 and 5 v 6? It would be disappointing to not have the playoffs, but Stage 2 is NO crowds, so it seems unfeasible within the lockdown period.

Yes level 2 is no crowds, but the ANZ re commenced under level 2.
The playoffs are not really that important, but with me being Tactix for life. They dam well need to play that final,

I just loved watching ANZ C – even tho’ the close sitting crowds and the players hugging flipped me out from here in Lockdown 2.0 in Melbourne …..so this is, potentially, a sad ending.

With the 2 point shot the SSN is not doing it for me so far…..glad to see the teams seem to be less focused on it as the comp progresses.

I also love the NZ style of full court defensive. Prefer that to one on one…have no idea why!!

Yip the style of play in the ANZ to the SSN is very different. I love seeing the New Zealand players going back to the style of old, the zone and space marking defence.
And agree the 2 point shot is hmmmm!!!!

Nice chatting mcleod.

I watched the 2019 WC Final again recently, on the 1 year anniversary from memory. Watching the Diamonds come back at the Silver Ferns with their grinding one-on-one defence was fascinating.

They should just do whatever it takes to try to get the grand final played. The other matches would be good but aren’t necessary.
