Play of the season when Harrison jumped and reached over Bassett to deflect Williams shot.
Usually I detect some sarcasm from NT but not this time…
NZ is a bit low on fit defenders.
Karaka not back yet, MSB out for a while yet, Holly Fowler back playing but taking it slowly.
Temalisi is half the player she was in 2018.
Jury is getting there, but still some way of being a GD option. So that leaves Watson, Burger and Fitzpatrick.
I can understand why Noels would like Harrison, and I be happy to have her in the FernsHarrison can successfully play WD, GD and GK.
I would add Rore not back yet either. Rate her or not she is an experienced, senior player.
Agree Baller, and I’m sure she won’t take just 3 circle defenders into a big comp again.
Jane Watson looked totally shattered after the final Con cup game.
And I’m sure that is a reason Noels wants Harrison, even if just for the rest of 2021.
Looks like England coming in September and then Ferns go to Aus in October.Yip, that’s exactly how I would use Harrison also. Impact and rotation. Temu lifts her game under Harrison’s instructions.
It was the successful move in her 2019 World Cup win wasn’t it? Taurua’s I mean. Having a strong but experienced “spine” of Folau, Langman and Kopua. I bet she’s remembering their value in experience and play making and wondering about how to recreate. Harrison would be my pick for sure. She’s always been a favourite player of mine and I’d love to see her out there again.
If they did add her, it could be a battle between her and Jury (if they don’t drop another defender).
Or they take the both of them, and push Burger up into the midcourt – which I hope doesn’t happen. I prefer Burger at GD.I wouldn’t take her unless she can commit to CWG. Having experienced players at NWC was key to NZL’s success but I’m not sure if it’s worth taking up a spot for Constellation Cup. Jury could do with the international exposure. But if she is committed to the Ferns longer term her form merits a call up.
I also think that if Harrison gets selected, she would be pushing really hard to be in that starting 7. She’s a player that can combine with anyone.
Anna Harrison has ruled out a return to the @SilverFernsNZ. @newstalkzbsport

Hardly surprising. Your body just doesn’t recover enough between games after a certain age. Also too much time away from her young family.
