Weston Bruce Klau RBD (Aryang)Who I’d pick
Koenen, Wallam, Wood, Austin (Dwyer)
Watson, Hadley, JLP, Parmenter (Proud)
Bruce, Klau, Weston, RBD (Aryang)Who I think will be picked
Koenen, Garbin, Wood, Austin (Wallam)
Watson, Hadley, JLP, Brazill (Moloney)
Bruce, Klau, Weston, Aryang (RBD)Koenen Garbin Wood Austin (Dwyer)
Watson Hadley Price Braz (Proud)
Klau Bruce Weston RBD (Aryang)
RBD and Aryang needed for WD cover, because if there’s a midcourt injury to Watson/Hadley, you want to bring someone in who can cover WA. Same for Dwyer, can’t have Wallam as a reserve, need someone who can run at GA.
Having said that. Would replace Aryang with Turner if she was in the squad
Parmenter unlucky (will get her chance with Braz retiring). No room for Moloney when Price is outplaying her

Wallam, Moloney, GarrettThough I do believe if Garbin underperforms they’ll say she’s “injured or unwell” to slot in Wallam.
Guessed the squad! Marinkovich is a little bit easier to predict than LA was!
I do worry a bit about picking Moloney and Wallam as reserves. A shooting end of Koenen, Garbin, Wallam, Austin and a midcourt of Hadley, Moloney, JLP and Brazill lacks a lot of GA and WA cover. Hopefully no injuries to the selected 12.
I picked it too, down to the reserves. Good job!
I can see why they’ve gone with Wallam as reserve because feasibly Koenen and Garbin can run out at GA (though probably wouldn’t want them doing it in a WC final).
Going to be a lot of people on social media confused about Garbin’s inclusion but after she essentially won us the game against NZ in Melbourne, they have short memories. Please can a club pick her up next year and play her at GS?!
Good squad. No questionable decisions, but you could make arguments for other players to be included.
A small part of me thinks that if one of the attacking midcourters does go down (touch wood), they would bring Wallam in and share Wood and Austin at WA. Let’s hope that isn’t something that needs to be decided for any of the teams though.
THE SQUAD…
Shooters
Kiera Austin
Sophie Garbin
Cara Koenen
Steph Wood (VC)
Reserve: Donnell WallamMidcourt
Ash Brazill
Paige Hadley
Jamie-Lee Price
Liz Watson (C)
Reserve: Kate MoloneyDefenders
Sunday Aryang
Courtney Bruce
Sarah Klau
Jo Weston
Reserve: Ruby Bakewell-DoranNo surprises with the team. As a Tbirds fan I would have loved Garrett to get a call up but RBD has had that little bit more experience with the summer international competitions so I guess it makes sense. I hope that they bring in some new faces after World Cup to test out some new combinations knowing that Comm Games and WC will have passed
