Absolutely devastating news to share that shooter Grace Nweke has been ruled out of the Netball World Cup after scans today confirmed a partial tear in her patella tendon.

Loved this from Nweke! She really opened up to us, absolutely shattered for her. I hope she’s able to find peace and able move on from this. No doubt her mental health will be taking a big too ❤️

I do wonder if the work load has taken its toll on her? Being so young too.

The great IVD had said, she didn’t start her gym work until she was in her late 20s. She feels because of this, it was able to keep her injury free.

Nweke did her ankle last year (I feel that can happen to the best of athletes). And now has caused damage to her knee.
She is a huge target, with an amazing jump on her. I’m sure the specialists will look into it, but maybe she might need a different type of strength program?

I think Nweke really needs a program focused on conditioning and building core strength to take some of the pressure off her knee and ankle joints. She is jumping a LOT and nearly always against two defenders who often give her a battering. She’s already a target and is very strong, building more support to protect her from injuries and adding more mobility to avoid those close contests will really help her. She’s so young and has already come a long way in that space but I still think there’s a way to go.
