They are on this Thursday and no doubt netball will scoop the pool, just as they did after winning the 2003 World Champs…

Laura Langman is up for sportswoman of the year, Noeline Taurua coach of the year, and Silver Ferns for team of the year. Added to that, the Ferns will surely win best moment of the year, and probably the supreme award as well.

So I’m tipping netball to win 5 awards!

That would be a dream come true Ian! I would be happy with just coach and team award. Anything after that would be a bonus.

Can I change that prediction to 6 awards? Because this is one I wasn’t expecting….

Lifetime Achievement Award goes to former NZ player and coach Yvonne Willering.

I don’t think Langman will get female of the year. Lisa Carrington is unbeatable in Kayaking, so she should get it again.

Best Sporting Moment of 2019 is of course the Silver Ferns winning the World Cup.
