Today, the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic family welcomed back Lenize Potgieter after she was released from the South African Commonwealth Games Netball Squad. During an early training session with the South African squad, Lenize aggravated a previous injury. While we know that injuries can occur anywhere at any time in high performance sport, we are sad and disappointed for Lenize that she won’t be able to showcase her skill and ability at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. We already have a treatment plan for Lenize and will be ensuring we work collaboratively to have her return to play at the appropriate time.
