The next coach will have a massive problem, when CBass retires. Who is the next GS going to be?????
Could well end up with all GS’s in the SSN being non Australian, might be the best comp in the universe, but at what cost to the Diamonds.
Koenen might be the next cab of the ranks, but she will be torn to shreds by the NZ defence.Should have given Thwaites more time on court and maybe she’d have stayed around a bit longer. I think Koenen will be fine, I think she’s much stronger and versatile than CBass was at the same stage of her career…remember her soft hands?
Burger, Watson, Karaka and a fully fit Temalisi F, hmmmm nice welcome to the next GS.
Lisa seemed like she really wanted to continue her job. But obviously, the 2018 Comm Games and 2019 NWC silver medals were huge factors in NA’s decision. Now let’s see who the next coach is. Some big shoes to fill and certainly will be under a lot of pressure.

Caity Thwaites looked really emotionalWow you’re right Thwaites is very emotional, I think maybe we didn’t realise that they had such a great coach-player relationship, we just evaluated it based on court time that she got
A coach who saw the person behind the athlete and gave us a chance be uniquely ourselves! An advocate for women's sport and a champion in her own right #ThanksLisa https://t.co/HovcSAOn8B

My reaction to today’s news …. Alexander decision a tough call, but the right one for Diamonds https://t.co/QDC3pJUUhn

@AussieDiamonds coach Lisa Alexander has been dumped, despite the Australian team being ranked one in the world. Alexander says she disagrees with the board's call and is vowing to coach again. | @NickButler10 pic.twitter.com/sVYaDSAAoN

Ranked number 1….. lost Comm Games due to coaching decisions
Lost World cup because she was out coached.
Sad day for her, but change was needed.
Interesting timing. Why wait so long?
Anyway I wonder if LA is UK bound? She as an open invite to join the SKY netball team on 22 Feb. She was very good in commentary and she talked less than Ama:-)
I’m guessing her replacement will come from one of the coaches already contracted to SSN. Ankle had a good season but her players were honed by Wright. Not sure he’s been the same since losing his mum. It could be Jencke, I’ve seen her on the bench with LA a few times.
I agree re Akle and Wright. I personally think Jencke wouldn’t be the best choice I think McKinnis would be better and Fitzgerald but all of these coaches have somewhat struggled bringing their line ups together in recent years
This is pretty special. Keep an eye out for this in the next day or two. Our chat with Lisa Alexander… pic.twitter.com/AZrOPJITJ8

"I knew Lisa as of 15 years of age, she always saw something in me. She was so hard on me at the start of my career, but she saw the potential in me and that meant the world to me"

Great timing for Vixens to get Mckinnis signed on for two more years 😂😂
But is this her signaling that she doesn’t want the role?
I think she still feels she has a lot to prove with this group of Vixens.
I personally would love Akle to get the job and be allowed to coach Swifts for two more years too. It would give her all the experience and surely she has the time for the next two years that aren’t big comp years. Although I do think her young family will mean she wouldn’t put herself forward.
J-Fitz- I just don’t think she has performed great the last few years of SSN. She’s had great line ups but they always fade at the end of the season. But she does seem to have a great relationship with her athletes.I think there is a very high chance that whoever gets the role is a current SSN coach so maybe she would do both?
