:negative: What are the NA board thinking! It really just gets worse and worse. No wonder they didn’t want Liz Ellis!
The requirement to agree to the contract and agreement with NA is in the NA selection policy on their website. It is dated 2019.
Who are the main people behind the ANPA? They are rather incompetent if they aren’t aware of the finite selection criteria of the players they represent.

When did the CBA expire? The eligibility criteria in the NA Athlete Selection Policy that requires athletes to sign the CBA relates to both squads and teams. The 2223-2024 Origin Diamonds Squad was announced on 27 April. Was there still a CBA in place at that time? How long have the negotiations been going on? Why wasn’t this resolved before the squad was announced?
Regardless of whether it’s the ANPA or NA who bear most responsibility for this stand off NA are making themselves look very bad not announcing the team and reserves on their advertised date.
Maybe the squad was selected under the interim agreement that was entered into for the last batch of tests?
Regardless of that if the ANPA is calling for the sanctity of the dress to be upheld then surely they want selections to be completed in terms of the policy? Otherwise is the integrity of the process not compromised? Seems a little hypocritical.
NA say they put their most recent proposal to ANPA on 18/5 but haven’t had a response.
From the list above, Geoff Parmenter (Amy’s father) has recently resigned.
Does anyone know when the deadline for naming the team for the World Cup is?
Which countries apart from Australia have yet to name teams?
I do wonder if there is an old unmonitored email address at ANPA that NA has been sending correspondence to…
In addition to Geoff Parmenter leaving so has NVB who now works with the Australian Basketball Players Association.
Will we see the team announced tonight as suggested or still a stand still?
Hopefully centre circle gives us some insight.According to Centre Circle tonight the deadline for confirming the team and reserves for the World Cup has passed. Cath Cox discussed two scenarios. Either the team has been submitted without advising the players or NA have sought an extension (presumably it would be granted as its not in anyone’s interest to not have one of the big four teams).
It’s such a bad look for NA and the players. The whole situation just gets more embarrassing.
