Yep watching. That bad call from the umpire with 1min 50s left is probably the reason South Adelaide lost.

South Adelaide get the turnover with 12 seconds to go, they score but the umpire says it fell through after the siren! One very wrong call and one call that is probably debatable.

I think South Adelaide deserved to win or maybe that’s just my bias because I want them to make history.

What a crazy finish to that game. If that ball dropped straight through the ring instead of circling before dropping it would’ve been extra time. So unlucky!

South Adelaide should definitely raise some concerns over that umpire’s calls. In the last two minutes, that umpire singlehandedly changed the game.

I also didn’t see it, but late in the 3rd quarter when there was a collision between two mid-courters did the matrics GA push the South Adelaide player in the back in retaliation??

To be fair south Adelaide had so many opportunities to go a few up and blew it especially in the last half. But a shame it’ll go down to a really bad umpiring call that essentially lost them the momentum and the game.

I did see that collision but I wasn’t paying close enough attention to be able to say what happened. I think MAtrics played far from their best netball while South Adelaide had a few missed opportunities so I guess it evens out in that respect. But I’m still disappointed that the umpire’s call changed the momentum of the game. Would’ve been their first ever title and the first in a few years that wasn’t Contax/Matrics.

Hopefully it’s the lead in to what will be a great league grand final as well!
Have a feeling this will go Matrics way in both games tonight..

Yep, Matrics have really dominated this year in both divisions. They have had a few poorer games but if they’re at full strength, they should win tonight.

As much as there’s been some great battles over the years… it would be nice for someone other than them or Contax to win soon 😂

Very hard to say… one of those things that is hard to judge. For example, time doesn’t get held in The early stages of the game when people are fighting over the ball after a goals scored. Yet come last quarter, time gets held. Also a differential from umpire calling time, to score bench hitting time.
Breaking calls, was that just the pressure of the game?
The replay call on the WA, hard to say. Unless a finer replay, you won’t know if the ball gets knocked out of her hand or she replayed it. Rebecca Ferguson is an experienced umpire and has umpired SSN.

Overall great game. South should be very proud of the season. I thought Matrics were always going to get the win after lots of finals experience.

From the live stream it looked like the replay call was incorrect, from the angle we saw it looked as if the ball got knocked out of the hands and the WA regained possession after that. Potentially the umpire was blinded at the time which is unfortunate, but it’s a shame it came at such a pivotal moment in the match. Outside of that I think it was umpired fairly well, and as mentioned South had plenty of opportunity to capitalize earlier and couldn’t do so.

I haven’t watched my much this year particularly, but I’m from SA so have followed the league for a long time

Feeds to Austin have been pretty poor at times and now I think she’s moving off the hold earlier than necessary due to maybe a slight lack of confidence?
