A lot has happened in the first seven rounds of the Suncorp Super Netball. When these two teams met for the first state derby in round 1 it was the NSW Swifts who drew first blood in convincing fashion, 63-56. Since that game the Swifts have gone from strength to strength, losing just one game in the first seven rounds to the Sunshine Coast Lightning, 57-59. They are perched high on top of the ladder, and heading into this match they were sitting on 47 points, in contrast to the precariously fourth placed Giants who have had to fight hard for their 27 points.
