It’s only 11 days since the last edition of the NS SCOREBOARD, but in that time we’ve seen 3 rounds of Suncorp Super Netball played. Round 9 saw four relatively straightforward victories to the top four sides; Vixens, Swifts, Lightning and Fever, but round 10 was anything but straightforward.

Thank you Netball Scoop writers, editors and photographers

A sunny spot in the garden, a takeaway coffee (and biscuit  ) and the Netball Scoop wrap-up from the weekend’s games.

Making life in Melbourne a little more bearable.

Apologies for the delay since the last edition of the NS SCOREBOARD, but there’s been so much going on. In this edition, we look at the last three rounds of Super Netball, ahead of the finals series which starts this weekend. Round 12 saw Fever spearhead Jhaniele Fowler break her own record for most goals in a game. She shot 69/72 (including one super shot) to contribute 70 of Fever’s 80 goals as they beat Swifts by 9.

Last weekend saw the two semi finals played in Suncorp Super Netball. On Saturday, Melbourne Vixens became the first team through to the grand final, when they completed a comprehensive victory over Sunshine Coast lightning in the major semi final. Vixens went to the quarter time break up by 5, but they really blew the game wide open with a dominant second quarter, and then continued to pile on the pressure in the third.

Since the last edition of the NS SCOREBOARD, we’ve seen the final two matches of the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball competition play out.

First there was the Preliminary Final between Lightning and Fever. And it’s fair to say that this season, Fever well and truly had Lightning’s measure. Wins by 24 and 20 goals in the regular season, were backed up by a 14 goal win in the prelim. It seems Lightning’s game style is simply all wrong for playing Fever. Their game fell apart.

Since the last edition of the NS SCOREBOARD, we’ve seen three competitions decided. South Africa’s Telkom Netball League came to its conclusion with Gauteng Jaguars incredibly taking out their fourth straight title. They were the dominant team throughout the compressed 2 week tournament and comfortably defeated rivals Free State Crinums in the final. In New Zealand, the Cadbury Series was contested between four kiwi teams; the Silver Ferns, the NZ A side, the NZ U21s and the NZ Men.
