Is Kayla Cullen still involved with Swifts?
She is not in any of their Instagram videos (photo shoot, training games etc)Training partner Tayla Fraser (should be a full time player!) Is in more photos.
Just a thought
A few people have mentioned that. Who knows? It’s still early in any case.
Guess we will see if she travels to NZ for the Magic game on Wednesday…
Knocked up? Seems to be common over the ditch lately. π
I was wondering about Cullen too. Injured or pregnant?
Such a shame for Swifts if she isnβt playing next season.Saw this on the swifts website about the NZ games:
With Silver Ferns international Kayla Johnson (nee Cullen) ruled out of the trip across the Tasman due to illness, the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball Premiers will bring seven of their rostered 10 players to Te Awamutu, as well as a number of training partners and QBE Swifts Academy players.- This reply was modified 4 years, 11 months ago by englishrose21.

Head coach Briony Akle has selected a powerful squad for our first pre-season hit-out of the year, against the @WBOPMagic in New Zealand.

Kayla Cullen/Johnson ill, gee who would have thought.
Something fishy going on there. Time will tell…
Illness.
Interesting….
Halpin deserved a contract in the first place So I am guessing she will get called up full timeHamlin is good but unfortunately she is not a circle defender, which is what the Swifts really need as back up for Klau and Turner. Interesting times π€
Sorry, autocorrect gone mad, that should be Halpin
I think the team is actually better balanced with Halpin than with Cullen. They already have Moore as a backup circle defender, I think it’s more important to have more mid-court cover. Halpin started learning C last year and I think she did a decent enough job, she’s obviously more of a WD but I think she can build into that swinging role. I’m still perplexed why she didn’t get a contract this year she has really performed well for them when called upon. I’m sure Fraser will get opportunities at the start of the season and with how common Midcourt injuries have unfortunately become she may well be in the game-day squad most of the season.

Actually thatβs a good point, I forgot about Lauren Moore as weβve seen so little of her on court. Fingers crossed her shoulder is well on the way to recovery!
