Klau was phenomenal early, I think her and Aryang haven’t had enough time together to form a good combo so the second half defence was a bit lackluster.

I think today showed how much Hadley is needed in the side. Price is just not strong enough on attack and it really exposed us this morning.

Usually not a big Bueta fan but the strongest combo so far has been her at GS with Wood in GA. I’ve really enjoyed the control that is forced upon Bueta in GS, she is expensive out the front but when she’s the go-to GS it works great cause her movement in the circle has actually been very good in GS.

Starting 7 tomorrow would love to see:

      GK – Klau
      GD – Weston
      WD – Brazil
      C – Hadley
      WA – Watson
      GA – Wood
      GS- Bueta

Australia threw the win away really. On top for most of the game, they really should have been able to close it out. They had numerous chances to seal it, but made so many mistakes.

I’m hopeful the 12 for tomorrow will be
Bueta Garbin Wood Dwyer(simply for maybe 5 minutes depending on the score or getting to be on the bench since I cant see Koenan going on, the English defence were really rough but she did get bodied a lot)
            Watson Hadley Braz Price
Klau Bruce Weston (Turner/Aryang, I dont think this matters as much since I can see the other three being used the most)

As for CWG I can see someone like Rav or Browne taking the fourth midcourt spot and I think form will depend on who is chosen out of Koenan and Austin and Turner and Aryang for those last circle spots.

I know England had some sloppy passes over defenders in the first half but I feel they cleaned up their game as time
Went on. Australia started off being a bit more careful but in the third quarter especially, they looked like they weren’t treasuring possession against a strong surge from england. They just have to be able to weather that storm. I feel like Brazill coming off left a lack of hands-over pressure and took away some fear of release. I think with Brazill and Hadley back on and together in the mid court we might see a different game tomorrow…

On the other hand, I’m loving the different shooter combos. I’m wondering if we might see a set starting seven coming through before CwG but with a plan to do a total shooter switch halfway through as a game tactic. I loved the switch at half time in the england game for example… just throws something different at an opposition rather than just swapping out a single player as an impact player

I am not surprised SM responded to Cath Cox’s question. She would have been genuine in her response.

This is going back quite a few years. But I was at a friends party (from memory I think it may have been a mutual friends engagement party). I was quite intoxicated 😂 I went over to her and was like “I have so many questions to ask you”. She goes “yeah go ahead”.
She sat there and answered all my questions. Was quite happy to give me a proper response. I was so impressed by this, cause I was quite drunk, and it would have been just as easy to fob me off.
I have had so much respect for her, ever since then.

I am a Ferns fan hard. But I am also genuinely happy that SM is doing well in this Quad Series.

Instagram also going crazy re Moloney being out. To me JLP AND Moloney are on similar levels atm but Moloney hasn’t producing enough despite being given much more opportunity than JLP. So for me, at least having JLP in gives SM a chance to work out what she can do and if she can’t then hopefully neither of them make the team just in experience and SM pulls someone like Rav, Proud, or Browne to balance out the mid.

Moloney and JLP have had similar game time this series
JLP had one quarter / one quarter and full game – all in C
Moloney sat out first game then had three quarters in C (plus part of the quarter in WD) then three quarters in WD.
JLP only tried in one position C, along with Hadley and Moloney
Moloney tried in C and WD, the only other WD is BRAZ (who will surely start)
Without looking at stats it would be interesting to know what the coaches are thinking/reasoning

I would have selected Moloney over JLP but like others has said neither has really stood out which leaves room (hopefully) for Proud to make the comm games but will Stacey want to take a debutant. I’m disappointed Turner wasn’t given another opportunity especially considering she would know Housby and Metcalf’s game
