And from Sharni herself – “Just to be clear, I’m not making a comeback – coming from Frankston where my state league netball journey began and still being in good physical condition thanks to AFLW, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and expertise to the up and coming generation of Peninsula Waves netballers and can hopefully intensify their learning by getting out on court with the team once the AFL W season has ended. After a huge career, my enjoyment now comes from giving back to the community and I’m grateful to the Waves for giving me the opportunity to surround myself with the next generation of super netballers.”—Sharni Layton
