Interesting… I wonder if she wants to put herself into CWG selection contention as well now.
interesting is all I can say about that… although I can’t really recall seeing her ever play more than just GK (and even that she did rather poorly last year)
as for the silverferns, she has been surpassed and well and truely left behind by most defence in the comp now (and I’m not sure there is any (correct me if I’m wrong) that only play one position)
@kerryn 🙂 I wonder how the Pulse (Wellington) feel about this given it was so late in pre-season when she pulled the plug (or maybe it was mutual). Does anyone know what the fitness standards are like in the UK competition compared to NZ franchises who have up theirs to help the Ferns requirements?
Hmm… Wellington is too far away from her family in Auckland, but the UK isn’t.
I hope she has done some fitness work, last year was embarrassing. Hardly moved,
Does anyone know if we can watch the vsnl here in NZ? I like to watch our kiwis play in other leagues.
@Maryanne the fitness standards in NZ are only guidelines at franchise levels and aren’t enforced in any way. I would imagine the same applies in the UK
The Pulse wouldn’t care that she is playing over there as in the end it was a mutual decision for her to leave the Pulse although I think the Pulse handled it very poorly.
I hadn’t watched Manu’a play before but she reminds me of Faka. Very physical but I do like what I see as long as she doesn’t turn into a dirty/dangerous player which I think Faka sometimes did in her year with the Magic.
@moooz i dont think that was the reason at all, think its been discussed on here that she didnt want to get vaccinated. Her fitness was noted as being rather average last year with the Magic and now shes injured? could that have something with not being able to be in gyms for a number of months? wonder if the Mavericks feel ripped off :negative:
