I would have thought they would hold the comp in Wellington, being that it’s central New Zealand. I feel sorry for our South Island teams. However, I’m thankful that we have a competition to look forward to.

It’s about an extra 35 mins flight time each way. Maybe it wasn’t possible to book Wellington venues for Friday – Monday for ten weeks straight and get them for next to no cost. Then of course Wellington airport is closed due to weather more than Auckland.
I can’t help but wonder what it will be like at the Netball centre particularly if the local competitions kick off this year – theres next to no parking space available by the building itself on competition days and people everywhere!

They based it in Auckland because 3 of the teams can drive there so I suspect it has something to do with costs also.
