Steel has announced a very good team! Fisher and Metuarau will be strong. Wilshier is a gun and overlooked at Magic for too many years.
Woulf is Australian right? 2 imports? They could be really well next year. Very exciting team. Erwood dropped. Corkley also.
Taneisha Fifita

Was thinking that about Woulf, and on the Steel announcement it says subject to eligibility.
After googling Wilshier, looks like she’s currently playing in state league for Sunshine Coast with Woulf. My guess with Woulf is that she will have kiwi connection and will be played as a kiwi so not an import. But this is just me guessing as I have no idea who she actually is.
Was worried about how the steel will go but it’s looking like a pretty good team lots of young talent in their for sure.
Woulf must have a NZ passport or something?
She made the lightning team in 2018,but had to withdraw due to an ACL injury. This team is very exciting. Personally I would prefer no imports in the shooting circle, but Fisher is a very good player. Hopefully Magic don’t have an import shooter!
Wilshier is playing in Aus currently but is from Waikato. Thought Magic would sign her after Souness left.
Is Fisher the only import player announced so far?
Fisher is a cool signing!
A shame they dropped McCollin, I thought she was a standout for them this year. I guess not getting any of the domestic shooters they targeted meant looking abroad was the only option. McCollin should be able to get a contract in Australia though. Vixens, Fever, Lightning and Collingwood would have to be interested.
I think the performance of the Steel will really depend on how well they gel and grow as a team. They have a lot of young talents like Fisher, Metuarau, Pelasio, Savai’inaea, Heffernan, Fifita etc. who have shown great potential but will need to step up if they want to make Finals. Could be a great team in a few years’ time.
Maybe McCollin wants to go back to VNSL? In these Covid times when travel is restricted, UK is much closer to home.
I would be shocked. 40k+ NZD goes a long way in T&T, I don’t think she would return to being an effective amateur if she had the choice to play in AUS/NZL. It’s not like the UK is exactly close to the Caribbean either. Maybe she won’t play overseas next year though, as we saw with Sam Wallace it’s very difficult to be that far away when there are things like family to think about.
It’s a lot closer than NZ though. And there is a large Caribbean community in the UK. Then again, she might have been snapped up by another ANZP team. We won’t know until all the team news is out.
So excited to see Fischer in the ANZ, she is such a great player and will give her such a good challenge 😀
There is always the Magic for McCollin?? They haven’t announced their full squad yet- and with Faulkner defecting to the Stars, they have a gap? Latu-M was average this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw her there, unless I’ve missed something re: Magic
Will be interesting to see what Magic do.
If Steel can get Fisher into the country, then I won’t be surprised to see Marshall in the Magic squad. 2x import shooters isn’t ideal.
Woulf will need to give up the Australian U21 spot?
I wonder if we will see Burgess at Magic replacing O’Sullivan?
