Hmmmm
If my guess about Wilson is right it feels like salary caps and tiered-systems canβt hinder the Pulse from putting together a top side at all. What a change from the first years of ANZC!!
If McCollin isnβt allowed back into New Zealand surely sheβll pick up an SSN contract.
Burger to the Tactix with Jane, that would be exciting if happens. Anyway how can the Pulse keep and get top players, some of them must be on crap money, they better play Ekenasio a decent wage.
I feel like Ekenasio and Rore must be Tier 2 or 3 but stick around because of life outside of netball. Else it’s very difficult to see how they’ve managed to keep the core of their team together (plus have others who are interested in moving to play for them).
Ekenasio and Rore will surely be tier 1 for Pulse.
I would guess Ekenasio would be tier 1 but think that Rore would be tier 2. She is near to the end of her career so I’d imagine that Dunn would be the other tier 1 in order to keep her there. Keep in mind that all those SF’s in the team will be on a retainer that would boost their overall earnings. Eke must be on some very good money now being the SF’s captain, a far cry from a couple of years ago when the Pulse offered her a downgraded contract after being on the bench most of the season when Dunn and Meatuarau were dominating.
@mcleod are you just guessing or do you have a bit of inside knowledge? Because some of your picks :good:Mind you, you all seem to be good at picking who is going where.
Souness Gordon Kersten midcourt will be unbelievably fast if that happens!
When will teams start announcing their squads?
Stars also named their team first last year. Is it because NNZ runs them, so they have a headstart?Neisan I was chatting with someone FB, and we came up with those.
I really want Jane to be back at GK, and Burger to play GD. so decided that’s what I want. π πThat would be amazing, but Tem leaving will be sad. Guess Watson is more effective at GK
Ekenasio, Rore, Dunn and Burger must have Tier I contracts being thrown at them from other clubs, so I would guess that Burger is on the move if Ekenasio is getting that top tier (which she absolutely deserves by the way).
Hopefully Metuarau is the one on the move, she’ll make the Ferns with more court time I think.
OMG! OMG! you guys need to stop
I’ve read all the posts and you’ve got me all excited thinking about a the possibility of Magic having a defense of Tem and Burley… oh π₯
“I wonder what will happen with imports in 2021. Highly unlikely NZ will open their borders.
Will McCollin get an exemption to return?”surely they will have to let McCollin back in, does NZ have enough high level players ??
There seem to be a number of defenders that could step up and you’re overrun with middies but shooters  Steel lost two and they won’t be recovered for the start of the season. The shooters at Magic are not strong enough and Mystics without Grace were awful…where is Brooke Leaver?? B-)
If Souness is returning to the Pulse, I’m not surprised. Her season was a little lack lustre.
Good choice Burger, playing next to Watson must have been a huge draw card.
Metuarau needs court time so hopefully she gets it at the Steel. Of course if all these rumours are true?
Funny how being a SF doesn’t automatically guarantee top two tiers in some teams.
Yes lots of rumors, be interesting to see what happens, I’d say Dame Noels might be having a input in decisions.
But Burger needs to be playing at GD. She will be used in that position at Ferns level, so being plonked at WD, at Pulse
is not ideal.Souness at WA and Gordon at C. That could be a VERY good combination. But Kersten has really developed her attacking play this year, will she want to be stuck in at WD for the entire season? Guess she will be WD at Ferns level so…..
