21-16 to the Vixens at quarter time. Supershot shoot out.
Mundy and Austin connection developing nicely.
Letherbarrow is really good. I hope JFitz plays her more in the actual season, she deserves to be on court.
36 – 29 to Vixens at half time. Giants (well Leatherbarrow), went on a supershot spree and Vixen’s lead was down to 2 at one point. Then Samason started shooting the supershots too.
Looking forward to proper netty when the NZ comp starts in a few weeks. No 2 point shots and no timeouts.
74 – 51 to Vixens at the end of the game.
Watching these pre season games further proves how criminal it is that we don’t have more teams, so many talented bench players and training partners
A monster second half sees us claim a 23-goal win over the GIANTS to wrap up the weekend! Thanks for having us Bendigo 🫶 pic.twitter.com/xU45aWGWZh

After watching the second preseason game, I think thunderbirds are in big trouble.
Austin isn’t ready to be the starting GS, she looses too much ball. Her shot selection is terrible too. Cardwell will need to play GS, and either horjus or dawn. If Dawn is having an off game they don’t have a strong WA option if Horjus goes into GA.
I totally disagree. I thought they had a reasonable weekend and certainly look stronger with Cardwell than they did with Potgieter.
Austin is young and won’t be starting. I don’t think anyone expects her to be topping the stats list in her first contracted year. She has a lot of growth ahead of her but she also has a really high ceiling.
Also Cardwell can play GA, they did play a quarter with her in that position and Austin back in GS against the Giants and it went pretty well.
Nankivell is also decent in WA. I would assume they could also slot Williams in there. I do think the midcourt is their shakiest third.
Overall I wouldn’t take much away from those games, I can’t recall any occasion where the Tbirds played with their most likely starting lineup across the entire court.
Letherbarrow had great impact the few times she had opportunities to come on last season. Hopefully she gets solid court time this year, a circle of her and Dwyer could play for the Diamonds one day. Harten can be so expensive when it comes to turnovers as well.
💬 "They would have learnt so much from that experience that I think is so valuable."

Brilliant weekend in Adelaide against our long-time rivals the Thunderbirds. Played two games, with the honours even. Swifts won Game One (60-39) with Adelaide taking out Game Two (66-49 ). Thanks for having us in your beautiful city – see y’all in Round 2 @AdelaideTBirds pic.twitter.com/2lkJKqKco3
