Hmmm wonder who will step into that starting GD role with most of the Other defenders in the team and wider squad being best at GK.

Big blow for Lightning and an even bigger blow for RSA.

I guess Shimmin will be seeing considerable court time at GD to start the season, along with whoever they decide to bring in. I’d like to see Unie if her recovery is going well, I think she’d form a really dynamic partnership with Dehaney.

It’s hard to see Lightning make Top 4 with this lineup but I’ve said that for the past three seasons and they always manage to get there.

Wow, no posts of congratulations from members on here. Just doom and gloom for the teams, and what will they do? A big blow? I don’t think she or her husband and loves ones see it that way.

I think Pretorious deserves better than that.

                    Congratulations Karla!

I don’t think that is deliberate on anyone’s part… I congratulated her on social media since she probably isn’t going to be reading the SCL 2022 Netball Scoop thread in search of congratulatory comments. This thread was just more appropriate to discuss where the team goes from here…

Hinchliffe, KD and Shimmin are still a very solid defence unit. I’d be more concerned about their shooting end, no real solid backup there.

Batcheldor is really good, I’m not worried about their shooting end at all. I think WD/GD will be a big weakness though. They have no one who naturally plays in those positions. Scherian, Miller and Cassidy are all WA/Cs.

Batcheldor is a gun. She is a superb backup.

Great news for Karla but a big blow for SCL. I hope Ash Unie gets the call up she deserves.
