TPSR was always an outside chance with Taurua looking towards her future GA options.

Watsons timely stepping aside isn’t unexpected either. I do wonder how brave Taurua will be in her defensive selection. Experience vs young talent. 1 (maybe 2) spots up for grabs.

At Ferns level, I still prefer Burger as the starting WD and then slide into GD (if needs be).
I think Jackson, Karaka and Burger will remain. Burley will probably be the fourth option. I’m in hope that Takarangi will get the call up. I think she offers something so different from any other GD. A Jackson Takarangi Burger back 3 could be really good.

No time like the present to blood the newbies, I don’t think Burley, Takarangi or Mason would be over awwed at international level. Can still remember Mason playing u21’s in the first televised quad series (sf’s, nza, men’s, un21’s) and her really taking it to Junior Levi as a 17/18 year old

I would honestly go Jury, Burger and two of Burkey, Mason, Takarangi but I don’t think Noels will carry two rookies so Karaka probably gets a reprieve from the axe.

I suspect Mason’s combination with Jury will get her over the line.

They may also rotate that fourth defender for the different series too?

I’m excited by this new defensive blood! Agree with WeWood with Jury/Burger plus two of Mason, Takarangi and Burley between the two series. I think Karaka has been inconsistent this season, especially with soft attacking turnovers.

There’d be no real back up for Jackson. I still feel we need height at the back. If Burley gets moved to GK, we’ll have a very short defence.
I know Jane Watson is short, but for me she’s the exception. I think Karaka is needed. If not her then I’d go for Stythe.

This makes things very interesting.

Ferns will need another GA, eke can’t do it all.

In defence, Burger, Jackson and karaka I feel. Burley should really get the call but she’s not an international GD. If I remember correctly GT got her debut at GK so she nay be the preferred choice. I think DNT will take Mason.
