        Her comments about the Roses Program are very interesting. Though I suspect the programme is also about securing funding as much as it us about player training.

          The Roses full time programme was funded initially by a budget surplus – I’m guessing that, after the outgoing CEO’s law suit, which cost almost £1m according to the accounts, that money’s gone….and are Vitality going to fund it full time. I’m pretty sure that the Aus players were also self-funding their flights back to England, so it’s not as easy as “pop back for the weekend”! And as for the players taking time away, if you’ve been in residential camps 7 days a week for more or less six months, I think it’s only fair that they’ve taken time away from the game – they have lives outside netball, and that sort of intense environment can’t be good for you 24/7.

            That’s interesting the favourite for the England coach is against the programme? I agree that being in residential camp 7 days a week is no good for anyone, need a personal life and space. Clubs will need to get more professional for this to stop. Also what was the lawsuit?
