          Devastating for Tara especially since it’s the same knee. Will the Lightning take their third chance at a balanced team? That’s one of their (dubious) WDs gone- Veve would be perfect if they took another Firebirds TP, or Ava Black from their own. In terms of defence, Iongi was the standout TGC defender for me but they do have Rowheder as a good WD/GD slide.

            I always thought it was a bit nerve-wracking that she came back so quickly. It reminded me of Cobden at the Thunderbirds. Such sad news, but the Lightning have a lot of strong defenders so I think they’re still in a good position for 2023.

            I would sign Black. I thought she was really solid at TGC, great height and speed for a midcourter.

              Yeah, I was the same. I remember when she had the injury and it was pretty late in the 2021 season, so I just assumed she would be out for almost all of 2022. That’s why I was really surprised when Lightning signed her, and then to see her play the whole season last year, I was stunned.
