It will of course be a noteworthy achievement to scrape into the playoffs yet again but I feat that this time it will very much be to make up the numbers.
That looked to have been another uncomfortably close match for Bath. It will be interesting to see how they get on against Mavericks. Neither team look likely to compete with the top 3.
.@TeamBathNetball duo Rachel Shaw and Kim Borger have announced they will retire at the end of the 2022 Superleague season.

A new & quite inexperienced coach learning on the job & some crucial team building prior to next season will determine whether Team Bath are really a team to be reckoned with or that they just remain in the pack where truthfully they are this season. Realistically expecting a return to the top any time soon is a bit of a tall order.
An exceptional squad performance seals Bath the win😎

The result tonight was never in doubt after a surprisingly tight first quarter but a ten point margin wasn’t embarrassing. If they can achieve a win in the 3rd place play off they can feel satisfied after a dreadful start to the season which the head coach seemed to accept with equanimity. Next season will no doubt be even harder with a rookie head coach & needing to find replacements for some important players. At the same time their rivals Saracens Mavericks are to be led by top coach Tamsin Greenaway.I wonder if the glory years will ever return?
Team Bath finished the season strongly by gaining 3rd place after not even looking like making the top 4 for much of the season. Defences were well on top in this play-of resulting in an exceptionally low score line. If Bath are to maintain this position next season or even challenge the top 2 under an inexperienced coach they have to recruit a top level striker to replace Kimberley Borger, that’s a must.
