I think I remember someone on here saying during the Constellation Cup that it’s some sort of good luck ritual for her???
Full time: FEV 47-46
What a thriller! That last couple of minutes was crazy. The result could have gone either way, but it’s Fever that gets the last second win over Vixens and it takes them to the top of the group! Jordan Cransberg had a great game.
Full time: MAV 43-42
Another thriller. Mavs hold on to win a nailbiter against Giants. Tayla Fraser had a solid game for the winners, likewise, Price for Giants. Mavericks finish the pool games with 2 wins, Giants 1.
Full time: LIG 39-37
Another close one! Lightning comes from behind to grab an exciting win over Thunderbirds and get their first points of the tournament. Courtney Bruce and Shamera sterling-Humphrey both picked up 5 gains in just one half.
Tomorrow’s finals:
7 v 8: Lightning v Firebirds
5 v 6: Giants v Vixens
3 v 4: Mavericks v Swifts
FINAL: Thunderbirds v FeverI understand that TGC is a good chance to use training partners but firebirds using Latu Meafow to the extent they have is ridiculous. Cholhok has been in the country for a month and is still building into the firebirds lineup surely the combo of dwan and cholhok or Moore and cholhok should be a focus
Also both Moore and dwan are solid super shot shooters which they needed
Great for latu and she played wonderfully but feels like it was wasted opportunity for firebirds, lots of teams have flexible lineups and positions that swap when needed however the Firebirds GA has not been locked down by either dean or Moore and I feel it is because they both haven’t been given a chance they often get swapped whilst still working into a game, hopefully a new coach sorts out this attack end
Yeah, I don’t understand that. Seems strange. I’m pretty sure she’s not eligible to be the 11th player.
I agree, they should be building combos with Dwan and more not latu, I think she is eligible to be the 11th player as she’s never played in a World Cup?
Looks like that’s what the coach is aiming and not trying to build up Dwan and Moore. I felt Dwan did really good in the last game, but they subbed her off for latu.Does anyone feel Dan is not using kumwebda to the best of her ability? When she was paired with Wilkinson they were running into each others spaces, she was miles away from the circle.
She played so much better at vixens. No, just had a look. To be eligible you must be 26 or under (she’s 27) OR have played no more than 5 SSN games before (she has). So she doesn’t qualify.
Kumwenda still has a lot of work to do. Her combination with all 3 GAs hasn’t been great, but this is a big learning curve for her and she is hasn’t hit 100% yet. It looks as if her load is still being managed too, I am confident she will get there.
Her strength is staying in the circle and she has not been sticking to that. She is coming out of the circle far too often and that is a sign that she is not confident to let the ball come to her. She was actually doing this a lot at Vixens as well in her last season.
Dan gave her some direct feedback (against Swifts I think), and that was to pop forward when she is on the hold against one or two players. As soon as they went back on court she was on the hold and calling for it to be dropped over to her, which is not going to work against the standard of defenders these days.

FINAL: Thunderbirds v FeverRe: Nweke. I haven’t watched any of the games so haven’t seen her do it, and I can’t recall any of the international games, however will be interesting to see if any umpires deem it delaying returning the ball for the centre pass.
