I feel the most sorry for the Sirens, where will the Scottish girls play? What does this mean for netball in Scotland?
It would be nice if the UK had a tournament roses, Scotland, Ireland and wales to gain the smaller nations more experience.
Absolutely bl**dy disgraceful – nothing south or south west of London, three teams in the Midlands, nothing in the North East – let alone the Scotland situation. All those players across the south or south west now without a pathway. No one is going to travel for four hours plus on a week night to watch a game, let alone at weekends when (checks notes) members of EN are generally PLAYING. A total travesty and destroys some incredible work that’s been done over the years to develop effective pathways for players.
And let’s not forget the players that have come out of the franchises that have gone – where would EN be now without the likes of Cookey, Mentor, Corbin, Binns, Bayman, Beckford-Chambers, Elsley….I could go on and on. This is a disgrace.
(and don’t get me started on “fantainment” – more garbage language to hide the mess this has created)
