@jinxibo – I’m here – and just not very excited by it all yet!
Squads of 10 is such a backward step imho – how do you develop people when the opportunities are actively reduced? And as we’ve seen in SSN with Mavericks, a couple of injuries in squads of that size can wipe out your season completely.
Would hope that Leeds keep their line up as they were starting to settle and push on towards the end of the season, but it’s going to be hard for Peace and especially Kadeen as there are a lot of good shooters looking for spaces, and loads with a better attitude than Kadeen.
The whole thing is really “meh” in my book: maybe it’s because it’s so Midlands-centric, and I’m also a bit underwhelmed by Nelson and all her word salad interviews, but I can’t seem to get excited about it at the moment. Maybe the Olympics will get me going again! 😉
I don’t quite understand having Greenway, Buchanan and Austin all at the same team. Seems a bit like overkill.
I think TG is overseeing the netball programme.
Mavs need top 4, they’ve been under preforming for a number of years.
Actually Mavs & Storm have created the scenario I was thinking about.
Which shooters would you contract from those teams?
Clarke has already stepped away
SDL has stepped away from the Roses to play tennis, not sure where she stands on NSL.
How is Thacker?
SDL and Thacker are my first picks, that leaves 1 spot between Peace, Wells, Venter, Rothwell and Sophie Kelly needs a place too. Also didn’t Mavs use a young GA for Lightning? She was good
I’d take SDL, Thacker (who’s a tall, rangy mobile GA/GS) and then Venter – although that would leave Kelly without a space, and she’s very special. This is why imo this squads of ten business is nonsense – combine it with the lack of teams in the south and south west, and talents like Kelly and Rothwell miss out.
I think so, just not publicly – there’s lots of gossip. Surely you’d want to keep fans engaged?
We would like to say a big thank you to @imoallison for last season and wish her all the best on her new adventure in the @SuperNetball with @FirebirdsQld 🔥 @kjgreigy said, "Whilst Imo only spent a season with us, she made a huge impact on our club both on and off the court and… pic.twitter.com/nFxJkt9uO4

So much for keeping our players from going abroad 🤨
Where is all the info about signings? Is this so they can just announce it all on Sky?
This is not keeping people engaged: three U17s at my club last night were talking about buying season tickets to watch our local premier league football ladies team …they’re not going to be the only ones if this silence continues, methinks.
Looks like Nia Jones is the first high profile casualty of the new era.
Apparently she wasn’t offered a contract at the new franchise. She didn’t attend the Welsh trails as a result and wasn’t named in the squad.
Interestingly didn’t see Powell-Davis selected either.
Best wishes to our former captain @niajones92 who has announced her retirement.
Congratulations on an outstanding career 👏 pic.twitter.com/jmO4xAD8TJ
