The VMMNA Junior M-League Spring Season kicked off at the State Netball Centre in Parkville, Melbourne on Wednesday 16th August 2023. This season we have two divisions, 14 & Under and 17 & Under. Six teams are competing in the 14 & Under division and five teams in the 17 & Under’s.
Round 1 – August 16, 2023
Casey NA vs. STNC-14&U The 2023 Junior M-League kicked off with an exhilarating clash between Casey NA and STNC-14&U. Casey NA asserted their dominance from the get-go, securing a resounding 46-12 victory. Star players like Harrison Hand, Samuel Adams, and William Meldrum showcased their exceptional skills. On the opposing side, Jonah Hazeldine displayed his scoring prowess for STNC-14&U.
Merri-Bek vs. WDNA 14U In another closely contested matchup, Merri-Bek went head to head with WDNA 14U. It was a game filled with suspense, and Merri-Bek emerged victorious with a final score of 27-21. Key players like Jackson Andrews, Lawson McCleish, and Kobi Verwoert played crucial roles in Merri-Bek’s success, while Angus Sandow stood out for WDNA 14U.
Darebin Dragons 17’s vs. WDNA 17 Red In the opening 17 & Under encounter, WDNA 17 Red showcased their prowess. Key players, including Campbell Brown and Khi Horsburgh, dominated with impressive offensive displays. WDNA 17 Red secured a resounding 75-15 victory over Darebin Dragons 17’s, with goals coming from Jack Athanasopoulos, Joe Vabre, and others.
STNC-17&U-Dev vs. WDNA 17 Black The match between STNC-17&U-Dev and WDNA 17 Black was a nail-biter. Harry Stritthof spearheaded the scoring for STNC, with solid support from Des Morgan. On the other side, Carter Morrissey and Thomas Lane stood out for WDNA 17 Black. In the end, WDNA 17 Black made a comeback in the second half, winning 41-39, in a closely fought battle.Round 2 – August 23, 2023
WDNA 14U vs. STNC-14&U Round 2 brought forth an intriguing battle between WDNA 14U and STNC-14&U. WDNA 14U displayed their dominance throughout the match, securing a resounding 50-8 win. Star performers like Angus Sandow, Lachlan Western, and Bayden Sonnenberg led the charge for WDNA 14U, while Jonah Hazeldine and Wynter Morgan Eeles showcasing their skills for STNC-14&U.
Merri-Bek vs. Casey NA Merri-Bek and Casey NA took center stage in another thrilling encounter. Casey NA emerged victorious with a final score of 41-29. Notable players like Harrison Hand, Samuel Adams, and William Meldrum played pivotal roles in Casey NA’s triumph, while Jackson Andrews and Lawson McCleish put up a valiant effort for Merri-Bek.
STNC-17&U-Dev vs. WDNA 17 Red In a highly competitive match, STNC-17&U-Dev and WDNA 17 Red displayed their skills. Campbell Brown of WDNA 17 Red was in sensational form, amassing a total of 56 goals. Despite commendable efforts from STNC-17&U-Dev’s Harry Stritthof and Des Morgan, WDNA 17 Red secured a convincing 72-24 win.
STNC-17&U vs. Darebin Dragons 17’s STNC-17&U clashed with Darebin Dragons 17’s in another thrilling encounter. Brady Austerberry led the charge for STNC-17&U with 30 goals, well-supported by Josh Francis and Lucas Rush. On the other side, Ben Holehouse, despite his best efforts, couldn’t prevent Darebin Dragons 17’s from falling to STNC-17&U, with a final score of 65-18. -
