Simmon Wilbore (formerly Simmon Howe, played with the Magic in 2019) is training with the Magic this season, she is a genuine WA so I wonder if she will be in the game day squad.
If I was Winders or Kersten, I would be hustling like crazy to prove my attacking skills in either WA or C. Going to be an amazing season watching players fighting for their Comm games spot.
Her shooting was less than average last ANZ, you can’t blame being shown-up by Nweke either & I do cringe a bit when they talk about her going back to the black dress when’s she’s off injury
True, i do think shes best suited as a GS than GA just for her shooting mechanics that do go a bit haywire when shes been running around a lot, she gets too bouncy with the movements between lifting to taking the shoot if that makes sense. If and a big if, she can come back to being fully healthy from this off season unlike last season than id hope she could put in a good showing cause damn when she used to be dominate not many defenders could touch her. Laura Geitz did say Mes was the hardest shooter shes ever had to defend lol
Rowland will get decent court time. I don’t think Ekenasio is ready
Gosh that commute must be hard for her, I see her on IG she looks knackered, hats off to any returning mama playing netball or returning to work for that matter
If she’s at full fitness, I’d have her back in the black dress. She has a lot of experience playing against the Diamonds and England. She has the fitness and athletiscm to compete against the tight defence.
Being able to sit back at GS, and concentrate on her shooting, will be a massive bonus.
She already has a connection with Nweke, and will be building one with Ekenasio. If everyone is running fit with no injuries I’d take Nweke Wilson Ekenasio and Mes.
Katrina just announced a surprise baby due this year
Fantastic news for Rore – and do you know what, I actually think really good news for the Magic.
She’s a massive loss for sure, but Maihi, Mikaere and Tong can get good court time in the defensive circle.
I hope it’s a win for young Georgie Edgecombe to get court time in at WD, however we might see Wilbore take that starting WA spot and Winders and Kersten share C/WD.
Re Ivana Rowland being the third shooter for the start of the season, surely Martina Reekers will see court time.. big wraps on her.

Congrats to Katrina – ‘surprised and stoked’ – this is lovely news.
Oh man I thought she might of been the answer to some of the SF issues & perhaps maybe for the Magic to win a game this year
Happy for her though such a close gap between her babies! I know she & hubby struggled with trying for LilybudMAGIC READY TO DELIVER IN 2022
