in reply to: GIANTS NETBALL 2020 #1314418
Tegan O’Shannasy probably won’t be given a contract in favour of Brandley?
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314340I don’t understand the hype over Glasgow ESPECIALLY playing GA. Her drives are abit slow and she seems to struggle off the centre pass AND second phase. I think Glasgow will go to Giants (connection with JLP & Austin from NWYC), or Fever (provides a meaningful change up with ATN).
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1314157Matilda Garrett has posted an Instagram story at a cafe in Noosa with the caption “The new local”. Maybe a move to Lightning is on the cards?
She’s a better switch up than ALJ & could provide a meaningful change when the Lightning defence aren’t doing well.
in reply to: 2020 SSN MAJOR SEMI FINAL – VIXENS v LIGHTNING #1313851No Kate Eddy today. I’m worried for the Vixens
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1313281Bueta was playing GS in ANL with Wood and Ekenasio at GA. Won’t be surprised to see her there again.
in reply to: Australian Diamonds Squad 2020/21 #1313228I don’t know if Bruce is the ideal captain for Diamonds. Would rather Weston & Simpson as co-captains maybe?
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 13 – VIXENS v FIREBIRDS #1313064Does Netball Australia have any programs for Indigenous/First Nations? They have U/17, U/19, U/21 & and even a squad for “Tall” players. I’m sure having an U/21 teams for Indigenous talent wouldn’t be difficult to set up and scout for?
in reply to: SSN 2021 signings/rumours #1312998Maybe Haythornthwaite is making the move over to Adelaide?
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 13 – VIXENS v FIREBIRDS #1312934I’m quite surprised that Jenke went Cassidy in C and Mi Mi in WA. I’ve always thought that Cassidy is the dominant attacking midcourt of the two, and Mi Mi was probably the more defensive.
in reply to: Caitlin Bassett #1312933I don’t think C Bass will retire just yet. If she does only 1 starting GS will be Australian (Koenan).
I do however expect Thwaites might be playing her last season.
in reply to: Thoughts on a possible Australian team #1312475I really hope Charles isn’t near the Diamonds, even the wider squad but I’m worried with Stacey as Coach she could be.
She’s an attacking midcourt, we have so many options ahead of her in this, and plays for a team where 3 players feed an incredibly dominant GS. Also she plays on a team that struggled a lot in 2019 and has only found form in 2020 when Bruce found form. Also Charles is 29 and I’m not sure she’ll play all the way til 2023?
in reply to: Thoughts on a possible Australian team #1312437GS Bassett
GA Wood
WA Watson
C Hadley
WD Eddy
GD Weston
GK BruceKoenan, Austin, Moloney, Klau, Mannix
I think if they are still have the wider squad which I think should still include
Phillip, Dwan, Price, Proud, Simpson, Parmenter, Jenner & Turner.in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 12 – THUNDERBIRDS v GIANTS #1312298This game really sealed Parmenter as a good option for the Diamonds squad. A midcourt of Watson, Hadley, JLP and Parmenter would be both strong and fast.
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 10 – SWIFTS v FIREBIRDS #1311129If SSN go back to 10 people teams I wonder how the Firebirds will look?
Bueta, Dwan, Aiken
Jenner, Hinchliffe, EllisA midcourt of Mi Mi, Dunkley, Cassidy and Simpson provides the best diversity but will they (Jenke) let Gardiner go?
in reply to: 2020 SSN ROUND 8 – FIREBIRDS v THUNDERBIRDS #1310414It’s far too early for Dwan or Horjus to be in the Diamonds squad? Would like them to both get another SSN season under their belts.
