Well, they’ve heard. It remains to be seen if they’ll listen.caribouParticipantMarch 1, 2020 at 6:50 amPost count: 41caribouParticipantMarch 1, 2020 at 3:07 amPost count: 41

Don’t mind rolling subs – the current ‘pretend to be injured’ process is ridiculous. I’ve written about my objections to extra time in home and away games often enough that I won’t repeat them again.
I am glad they listened to supporters views, but would have preferred it if there had been a ‘don’t change, we like it as it is’ option in the survey. It’s not the one I would have chosen – I voted for rolling subs – but it would at least have allowed them to see how many really wanted these changes, rather than just preferred them to the other options (like 2 point shots, or all scores counting double in the last five minutes).caribouParticipantJanuary 22, 2020 at 5:55 amPost count: 41
Good list Parda
My top two priorities would be
a page where ALL of the posts are placed in order of freshness; and
staying logged in Both on my iPad and my laptop.
I’m reading the site much less, and very seldom commenting because doing so means having to login and the find my way back to where I was reading every time. I presume the reduced number of posts, except from the unstoppable Ian, means that others have the same issue.
I really appreciate all the effort that the committee put into running and improving the site, and the reporting of netball in general, but the new site, although prettier (and more importantly, more stable) makes accessing the content harder. And it’s the content that we come here for.
How much do you need to raise to get these upgrades done?caribouParticipantOctober 28, 2019 at 9:36 pmPost count: 41
Netfan, I agree with your first two points, but not the final one – umpires attending training before matches is standard practice and has been for years (as is meeting with coaches after a match, which was raised earlier in the thread).
Umpires need practice too, and the transistion from a tournament of teams ranked in the 20s to a 1v2 match without any exposure to the faster pace at that level to prepare would be madness. Neither umpire would put Sunday’s game in their highlights package, but both Yuliani and Stevenson impressed me at the world cup, in factI thought Yuliani deserved a higher ranked play-off game than she eventually got. One clear learning from this series (and the world cup) is that INF needs somehow to find the resources to invest in umpire development. Getting Yuliani and other Singapore-based internaitonal qualified umpires onto the SSN roster would be a good start.
