in reply to: Netball Rule Changes #1367240
Other changes: if a player being lifted to defend shot, both of them must be 0.9m from shooter taken from grounded foot, and must not interfere with play
– players can now enter an offside area to retrieve a ball they will then pass, when taking a sanction.— Jenny Sinclair (@summerhill1003) December 11, 2023
in reply to: Netball Rule Changes #1367239Contact rule refreshed. Has player unfairly interfered with opponent? Contact occurs if results in loss of ball, interference with pass or shooting, or change in body position that limits opponent’s ability to move.

in reply to: Netball Rule Changes #1367236Injury time can be held even without an obvious injury, and in extreme circs a medical person may enter court even during play. Elite matches will have an Independent Concussion Observer who can alert umpires to issues, and remove player for assessment.

in reply to: Netball Rule Changes #1367235Short pass changed. Every pass should be legally able to be contested, and this has become an issue, esp on circle edge. Umpire will use discretion as to whether a legitimate attempt could be made. Will be monitored and reviewed in 12 months, to see if needs further tweaking.

in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Eng v SA (Dec) #1367227Yes, I would assume so.
Sadly it’s not an all-in subscription to watch everything. You pay individually for each series/tournament. So you can pay just for the ENG v SA series. It’s about 18 or 19 dollars in our money I think. I assume you would still be able to subscribe to that now.
in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Eng v SA (Dec) #1367224Norma Plummer says that’s definitely her last test as head coach.
in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Eng v SA (Dec) #1367223Fran Williams was Player of the Match AND Player of the Series. And I don’t think too many would argue with that. She was tremendous.

Cardwell 29/31
Glasgow 10/11
Neil 3/4Streutker 25/27
Maseko 13/14SA challenged hard in that quarter, but Fran Williams did as she often does and came up with 2 crucial plays, capped off by a Cardwell goal on the buzzer. SA not out of it though.
in reply to: 2023 Test Series – Eng v SA (Dec) #13672201/2 time: ENG 29-25
Cardwell 19/21
Glasgow 10/11Streutker 15/16
Maseko 10/112 late goals mean SA actually won the 2nd Q. The English defence has been able to keep Streutker relatively quiet today, while this is the best that the Cardwell/Glasgow combo has looked.
