Jemma Mimi really stepped up in this game didnt try to be too flashy but brought a lot of energy and confidence to that attack end(very Tippett/Bueta like). I noticed she spoke up a lot in the huddles and had plenty of advice for the younger players around her, if she can consistently bring that sort of performance she’ll be in with a chance at diamonds selection.

I’m very frustrated with Sues comments “people are wondering what effect the rule changes will have on our diamonds program” and followed up by saying that they will have more depth. We are seeing more young players due to the rolling subs and lack of bonus points. The two point shot is concerning people about international netball because it changes the game tactics and flow and is yet another adjustment the diamonds will have to make come constellation cup.

I think that the Pies almost go better with a couple of young guns in the ranks, of allows the stars to bring razzle dazzle with a few grafter there to support. That said the likes of Jovic and Ward certainly play with flair when needed.

Can’t believe how dead this thread is relative to the excitement this game had, that said it wasnt on tv and was the last game so that might have had something to do with it. I definitely felt it was the best game of the round though.

All kinds of madness in the last five, which is why I hate it. On the one hand kudos to Fowler for shooting those goals but Fever didnt really earn the comeback and if it was the other way around Id say the same. The rule basically gives teams two TOs for the price of one.

Garbin is playing with fantastic impact and as a result the attack is falling into place, Fever attack are starved of opportunities but it still feels like they’re playing well enough to get back into it, fingers crossed the Swifts ice them in the fourth.

Agree with all of the above Tully, Swifts are also missing Turner in attack I feel and even Eddy/Rore in that WD position. I’m hoping we can convince Parmenter to step across next year since the Giants have pinched a lot of our up and comers. 😉

Fever 20 swifts 18, pretty good contest so far, Lewis has been good for Fever I also feel like Anstiss has given the defenders good cover around circle edge. I want ATN to play well but hopefully she xan save that for when she isnt playing the swifts
