I think Horjus is like Nat Haythornthwaite in her ability to change up in GA but will predominantly be in WA. Tbirds should really try to get Nyah Allen back having C Nankivell WA Horjus and GA Allen would be a great front line.
in reply to: 2021 SSN ROUND 1 #1322680I really hope it isn’t what it looks like for Kippa! Not an ideal situation for a debut but Sophie Dwyer has come on with so much poise. I’ve seen a lot of her at ANL and she was always going to be a star.
in reply to: Documentary on 2020 SSN – Everything Is Possible #1322067Yes but this documentary is about last year.
in reply to: Documentary on 2020 SSN – Everything Is Possible #1321773Maybe it’s not chronological? I really want to see some of the aforementioned things play out too
in reply to: Documentary on 2020 SSN – Everything Is Possible #1321451I’m so excited about this! I wonder why its being put on fox and kayo and not 9. I hope it gets a lot of attention because netball needs things like this to promote the sport, I hope everyone finds a way to watch it(on kayo freebies maybe) because it should be amazing.
I really liked this interview. Im so keen to see how Keira plays this year.
in reply to: Liz Watson ruled out #1321261In Marinkovichs defence it has been said that this injury has been lingering for years whilst just being managed and has obviously deteriorated so this would be the culmination of the past few years of playing nearly every SSN and International game.
in reply to: Liz Watson ruled out #1321212I think this leaves the Vixens very vulnerable, they should have tried to keep Elle McDonnell in their pathways. Honey has a lot of potential but the Vixens game plan revolves around a dominant WA. Either Moloney steps up or theyre going to struggle.
in reply to: Liz Watson ruled out #1321206I wonder how the Vixens will fare without her? Hopefully she recovers well for a strong 2022 🙁
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320436As a diamonds fan,
Positives are:
Austin and Koenan are new to this level, relatively new to the zone and new as a combination this will be a good learning experience. Austin will work on accuracy and TOs and fitness. Koenan will look at staying in games for the full 60 and adding more tricks to her game.We got to see Bruce and Klau establishing a combination
Watson is a terrific captain and she mainly got played at WA where we could see her step up and dominate
WD isn’t our problem position for a change
The Ferns have broke the winning streak however a strong Ferns side is good for Australia and makes the series interesting. The Ferns had to lose at the beginning of their new era in order to build.
Negatives are:
I’m not sold on Stacey as a coach, her changes often didn’t make sense to me. Im not sure what we’re building towards given we’re not trialling things as much as most people wouldve liked. The thing I like about coaches like Noeline and Briony is they sense moments in a game that are going to matter and they add their voice rather than sitting expressionless on the sideline. They let their teams have leaders and then they step up and coach through those key moments to pump their side with confidence and then allow them to identify those moments themselves. We didn’t get to see Jenner, Proud or Hadley who after the first two games were the players I wouldve liked to see. I also thought Bruce back to GK and Weston to GD couldve worked given they know each other a bit better. Just to see what impact it had and free up WD for Moloney. A pre-emptive change at half time with Basset to GS and JLP to C might’ve helped Austin stay in the game and if not then bring Koenan on in GA where she did quite well.
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320298Interesting that people are saying Koenan shouldn’t have been taken off. I dont disagree but Austin made her look good during that first half and was understandably tired after doing all that extra work plus playing her first couple of internationals. I guess the case could have been made that that’s why Koenan should’ve gone to GA. I dont know if Dwan is ready to come on and be that change at international level, it’s a lot of pressure. With Tippet and Wood back in the mix the shooting circle will be a lot stronger. As well as consistent minutes for Garbin, Dwan, Koenan and Austin at club level. Like others I cant wait to see Sasha Glasgow back, if her and Austin get a chance together they will hopefully recapture some of their WYC form.
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320294Also can Stacey look past Charles and try JLP as the C change up? And if she subs out Charles then I hope it’s to play Hadley or Price as unfortunately for Anstiss WD is not the issue this series(which is weird because in recent history it has been the issue).
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320287Poi was amazing. Id love to see Australia play more test matches each year so our young players can develop more. This series is really showing how valuable it is to get caps into players and let them make mistakes so they can come on and have great impact like Burger, Poi etc.
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320280We need Proud or Hadley in the 12 next game. Watson was looking tired and I cant see a Charles Moloney midcourt doing the job. Next game should have Moloney in WD with Price in C to start too. Basset had a chance to show why she should be the impact player and didn’t really take it. Yes she can dominate but the circumstances under which she does need to be so specific and I just think if someone has 100+ test caps they need to stand up in big moments and make it easier for the players around them. I like the Klau, Bruce, Weston combo but maybe we should try Bruce and Weston in the circle tomorrow.
in reply to: 2021 CONSTELLATION CUP – NZ v AUST (March) #1320244With experience and exposure these young combinations are going to be amazing!! Love it, I dont think we’ll see Jenner today but maybe tomorrow would be a nice chance to play her for 60 minutes with someone like Bruce in GK and Weston or Simpson in WD to support. If Australia win today it might be a good opportunity tomorrow for Garbin to get on at GS as well.
