in reply to: 2022 Commonwealth Games – Day 7 (Aug 4) #1348569
I don’t think you’d want to put money on any of the outcomes lol – I think it’s impossible to call. if anything (maybe wishful thinking) NZ may have a slight edge (on paper) in the fact that they are quite unknown – none of the teams have played against Wilson at GA, Souness at C, an improved Jury, or Nweke (other than a couple of brief first up cameos) where as Eng/Aus/Jam for the most part play against each other week in week out – atleast the shooters/defence do.
As for semi’s I don’t think there’s a preferred team each would go up against – where as a few years ago it was definitely Jam/SA that was the weakest of the top 4 but seems to be a much more level playing field going into these next few games
if NZ don’t win Gold I actually really hope that Jamaica take it out (and then we can say that no we didn’t win gold but neither did Aus or England lol not taking anything away from Jam in saying that either) but I think it may come down to who can adjust to the umpiring the best
in reply to: 2022 Commonwealth Games – Day 5 (Aug 2) #1348424@minkie she played first quarter at WA and fourth at GA – I thought she played really well in both – Lisa Alexander also gave her plenty of praise – which is nice to hear when Jenny Woods is often quite disparaging of her
in reply to: 2022 Commonwealth Games – Day 1 (Jul 29) #1347970Team fouls is a term I’ve heard in basketball but not netball – perhaps who ever was doing the stats was confusing the two? (which could be excused in a non netball country)
in reply to: Oceania World Cup Qualifiers #1347560midway through the second quarter Samoa were up 26-19, and then it was pretty much all one way traffic for Tonga from there – stand outs were definitely both GS’s – the Tongan one was slotting them from everywhere and Tui really is a star in the making
in reply to: 2022 Cadbury Series #1347349@Montyandpoppy that was from the mouth of Elle Temu on tv coverage today (99% sure it was her and not MRB)

in reply to: 2022 Cadbury Series #1347346@meg02 Temu and MRB are travelling with the team, doing all the pre games stuff, but once the games start – the 12 that move into the comm games accommodation are the 12 they have to stick with
in reply to: 2022 Cadbury Series #1347279was it just me, or was Sulu well and truely out played by someone who wasn’t even considered a trialist, and someone who doesn’t even have a contract for next year? in saying that I think Namana should have a contract somewhere – this is prooving that she should – and despite the commentators keeping on saying she’s young – she’s 27 and has been round netball quite awhile – used to have quite the attitude, but seems to have totally changed in the past few years (could be a life mentality change since here younger sister passed away about 4 years ago)
in reply to: 2022 Cadbury Series #1347075they definitely performed better than I thought they would, but the team is missing the X factor that they have had for so long.
seem to have more energy this series so far though – the last few they seemed to be playing on the verge of exhaustion
in reply to: 2022 Cadbury Series #1347060@Baller you can see all the stats here (just need to put it all onto one line

I think I said something about that on here a little while ago, she’s given so much over the past few years for such little return
Isn’t it the 10th that they have to be named by? I could look back through the previous pages but I had that in my head – I’d be more than happy to be wrong though cos it is two days sooner ?
in reply to: Ellie Cardwell leaving Thunder & the VNSL #1346720My guess would be Thunderbirds, but actually hoping she replaces Fisher at Steel, would be great for them to have all 3 that can play GS/GA and would help Tui develop her GS game where I think she is strongest
in reply to: Silver Ferns trialists #1346233I think there is going to be a number of people saying “WTF??” In just under an hour
@Nesian Petera played well when she was on this year with no previous experience at that level (though WA experience) and I liked Poi there the couple of times they moved her forward, I just think again they have three shooters who are most dominant at GS – but think it could be good for Dunn to have a some runs at GA next year with someone who will have no issue taking the majority of the shots while she’s out there
