@mcleod & @Maryann Lokotui is also a WD cover (along with Tong) so not bringing someone in to cover Sam’s injury isn’t an issue – I would’ve thought maybe Poi for the C aspect but as has been said time and time again through out the thread – no one is quite sure why she is so out’ve favour.

and I agree with Hume, she played well, and really her shooting wasn’t that much worse that TPSR who you called almost call a SF veteran now – the nerves were definitely there last night which is understandable (maybe being on with Maia would’ve helped with that?)

I’d love to see Tong get on tonight with Burger (I think Jury is way to slow at GD against the speed of the guys)

@mcleod I think if Poi stays out’ve favour – then a Winders/Heffernan/Saunders/Crampton midcourt could work

though if Gordon can play a more C/WA role for pulse this year then that might give her a good shot.

and I think Mes (along with TPSR) might be the unlucky one if Maia can keep improving at GA – would have a Nweke/Wilson/Ekenasio/Meterau shooting end

it’s quite nice that NZ is back at the stage of who to leave out

@JR these are who wasn’t able to join them: Kruze Tangira, Maru Delamere, Joseph Tukaki, Timmy Apisai, Dan Rich, Quintin Gerber and manager, Jill Findlay

Tangira, Tukaki (tall experienced D) Apisai, and Gerber (tall shooter – about the same height as Levi but 1/3 of the size) were all definitely part of the last series, so I imagine they all would’ve been starting lineup – so possibly would’ve made a difference all in all, but who knows – 3 games in 3 days – the ferns should’ve won atleast game 3 on fitness/endurance alone even with the men at full strength

Heffernan has been playing all year at C and is solid – but still lots to learn
Saunders decent C but I think she’s probably the best WA
Gordon – I think the further up she plays the less dirty she is (I think she’s a very destructive WD)
Kersten – a distant 4th behind the above 3 to play C (just in my opinion) but I would also rate her behind Gordon, Heffernan and Burger at WD (just from those in the team tonight)

I’d love to see the following get some decent time together (though I know it won’t happen)
Wilson/Nweke (she needs some decent court time to see if she’s up to it)
    Meterau
    Saunders
Heffernan (seeing as there’s no Poi)
    Winders
    Burger
    Tong

I think CBass is 100% right with the GS issue – and I think the point was for not only her, but also Donnelle Wallam (sp) who should have a contract and if you look at the VNL last season – three of the best shooters, were aussies unable to get SSN contracts (Wallam, Borger, Bailey) and in my opinion if Liz was still playing now, she would have a very different opinion about the imports – as I don’t think she would really have a shit show against any of them

as a kiwi (who has gained a heck load more respect for her in the past couple of years) I would bring her back here and use her as shooting mentor to all the young ones coming through (and there’s a crap load of them) kinda like Irene has done – aussie netball has crapped on her well and truely. part of the reason I was hoping she was going to go with LA
