@Maryann I’m in Ngaruawahia – so just north of Hamilton – I saw on the covid FB page earlier someone from Auckland bragging they’d spent last weekend down in Raglan – proudly unvaccinated etc etc – I really hope the powers that be are looking into it – as that very well could be who brought it down this way. But I think they should’ve included atleast Cambridge, Te Awamutu and even Morrinsville in level 3 – just with the amount of people that work/travel to and from Hamilton each day – frustrating that they haven’t been able to update the places of interest yet either
some people are shocking – the majority doing the right thing, and the small number that are just totally ruining it for everyone – the guy across the road has just gone out for the 8th time today (as far as I can tell he’s unemployed so no idea where he is going he does this most days not just during lockdown) the house next to him have had people coming and going right from the initial lockdown in August – including a fairly large kids birthday part in the last level 3 (with only 1 mask insight)
oh I would love to see it in Southland – you’d be guaranteed a sell out crowd, and if I remember correctly from last year, they can section off the stadium which would allow more people in even with restrictions
I saw an ad on TV this morning for it – so hopefully it is still going ahead.
Hamilton can never seem to draw very good crowds – so limited/no spectators wouldn’t make much difference and I think most of the players are based in Wellington at the moment anyway (just from seeing the odd IG post), so can’t see there being much of an issue with it moving – they should’ve all been getting prepared for it anyway, so a quick relocation yesterday shouldn’t’ve been an issue (personally I think it was stupid not having any new travel restrictions imposed – lots of people going away for school holidays – next minute it’s spread across the country again)

Aryangin reply to: 2022 SSN rumoured signings/speculation #1333490@enozlas Hinchcliffe won’t be available for at least the first half of the season, and when she is back she’s pretty handy at WD, same as Shimmin who can cover all three positions, Cassidy can also play WD, and if they retain Maddie Hinchcliffe she is a WD/C, so they’ll have good cover across the court (maybe just lacking a little in WA cover again)
in reply to: 2022 SSN rumoured signings/speculation #1333427@NB12 there’s still Thunderbirds – I’d definitely sign her ahead of Potgieter
in reply to: 2021 Cadbury Netball Series – NZ v Eng (Sept) #1333211Our starting seven is set to go for the Cadbury Netball Series decider against the England Roses.
GS: Maia Wilson
GA: Te Paea Selby-Rickit
WA: Shannon Saunders
C: Claire Kersten (why oh why?? it’s been tried so many times and doesn’t work!!!)
WD: Sam Winders
GD: Karin Burger
GK: Kelly Jury
Subs: Jamie Hume, Grace Nweke, Kimiora Poi, Peta Toeava, Georgia Tong.in reply to: 2021 Cadbury Netball Series – NZ v Eng (Sept) #1333207and we know Nweke can rebound – if she was under the goal with Hume putting them up from all over, atleast we would get the majority of the rebounds… could actually work – as much as I said I didn’t think Hume should get a cap just for the sake of it – it probably is a pretty viable option for tonight – but I think it would need to be with Saunders at WA and Poi at C
in reply to: 2021 Cadbury Netball Series – NZ v Eng (Sept) #1333204I sort’ve agree – Maia probably wasn’t the right choice (though I think she could be trained up to be a pretty decent back up GA – however with Tiana and Ekenasio it shouldn’t be too much of an issue) however TPSR wasn’t either – she isn’t one to bring someone into the game – it took nearly an entire season for her to learn to play with Ellie Bird – was almost like she expected Ellie to change her whole game to fit in with TP, so not sure if that sort of play would work with Grace in her first game – I think if Tiana had stayed on at full fitness it may’ve been quite different – just look at how she brought Maia into the game in test 1, tonight if they have Grace on I think Hume would probably be the best option in front of her, plays a very similar game to Vui who she’s used to playing with.
I actually think there is a couple of very strong line ups that could be on tonight
in reply to: 2022 SSN rumoured signings/speculation #1333079surely this must be the most amount of changes since the inaugural season?
has thrown up a few surprises so far, both leaving, and where they’ve signed eg Garbin – not a surprise she moved – but where she went has been
and I think possibly still a few more to go??
the number of 2 season contracts will make next off season a little boring – but has the potential for some to miss out on spots? or will we see some contract being broken?? (that could get juicy!!!)
apologies, I’m procrastinating doing work, and what better place to do so
in reply to: 2022 SSN rumoured signings/speculation #1332908@TB – phone a friend = who wants to be a millionaire = Eddie McGuire – so my thoughts would be Eddy?

Kelly Juryin reply to: 2021 Cadbury Netball Series – NZ v Eng (Sept) #1332780I’d like to see Tiana play again on Wednesday- see if she can back last nights performance up, and if so, that Hume get’s dropped from the 12, as realistically she isn’t a long term fern with Tiana, TPSR, Ekenasio coming back, and even Maia playing out in front of Grace, it feels like it would be a cap that isn’t needed to be given, especially when there’s so many future prospects coming through the ranks
I’d quite like to see (and I know it won’t happen)
GS Grace/Maia
GA Tiana
WA Toeava/Saunders
C Poi/Heffenan
WD Winders
GD Burger
GK Sulu/Juryin reply to: 2021 Cadbury Netball Series – NZ v Eng (Sept) #1332769I thought Winders was better than Kersten last night, but with Winders at WD (she just steps up so many levels when she goes back there) and when Saunders came on at WA it kinda negated to how poorly Kersten was playing – I really hope Poi/Heffernan get a run in the next couple of games – even Gordon there last night would’ve made more sense!
