in reply to: 2022 ANZP Confirmed signings #1330947
I think Fakahokatau needs to take a little more personal responsibility for that…and if the rumours of Pretorious going there are correct, then she’ll have another long season sitting mainly on the bench…
Mason would’ve been a good 3rd defence behind Watson/Burger for Tactix – would’ve learnt a sh*t ton!!
in reply to: 2022 ANZP Confirmed signings #1330944really disappointed for Mason, so much promise…and then doesn’t really even get a chance to get on the court – thought she was the stand out against Junior Levi in the Cadbury series – think she was named as a possible bolter for the ferns squad after that.
But in saying that Erwood, as a training partner this year, got significantly more court time ahead of contracted players….
in reply to: 2021 SSN PRELIM FINAL #1330759I don’t really want either to win, but Fever just a little less – I really don’t like the way JLP plays and think Harten’s attitude stinks, but think Swifts have a better chance of beating them next week than Fever
in reply to: 2022 ANZP Confirmed signings #1330585Williams and Ekenasio interchanging between GS & GA will be good to watch – hopefully the third shooter can do the same – a bit like when the SF’s had Meels, Maria, TPSR, and Bailey – all 4 could play both positions
in reply to: NZ Silver Ferns squad announcement today #1330155I thought Savaiinaea and Temu should be in the Dev team – also no Dunn or Earle
a lot of WD’s & WA’s in the main squad….
in reply to: NZ Silver Ferns squad announcement today #1330139just saw someone comment on the SF’s FB post about netball at the Olympics that they think the announcement is at 1.30
in reply to: 2021 ANZP GRAND FINAL – Mystics v Tactix #1330019Minkie, if they have sky, they should be able to watch it on a phone/tablet/computer on skygo – that’s how I’ve been watching the Olympics at work during the day
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 14 #1328969Jinxibo – I also read in one of the articles that she had issues with the fact Pulse already had an ‘established programme’ so had to fit into that – and she wanted to build one from the ground up – which is exactly what Magic need – not more of the same – which is what would happen if MJ Araroa took the reigns – it started with Marg Forsyth – that wasn’t great, Amigene was her assistant , and was promoted to coach, Araroa is her assistant so I fear it would just be history repeating if she stepped in as I’ve seen some suggestions of – it’s not like Parata could do much worse that what has been – I’d be interested to see if she could turn round their fortunes
Baller, the only way to know if she can stand up to the Aussie defence is for her to play against them, and even if it’s not a great success to start with, just look at Maia and how she started against them to where she was when she played them last time. I think with how far Grace has come in the past few seasons, and what seems like her a really good mental toughness (as well as physical) I’d actually be really interested to see how she would go against Bruce/Klau etc
Based on current form – could be the youngest shooting end the SF’s have had – Grace, Maia, Tiana, Aliyah, Khiana – I know not all are going to make it but are up there stats wise currently (I’m not including last nights game in that).
and mcleod, I would love Tui to get a chance to get some decent game time at GS – I think given the chance, she could be truly great (I was really hoping to see her, Tiana, Kihana, and Grace in the U21’s)
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 13 #1328291minkie, it won’t happen but I’d love to see a Tui, Vui, Mes, or Tui, Mes, Vui lineup. Bailey has so much to offer the younger girls in playing a more holding/moving circle (as in can do a bit’ve both as opposed to just standing and holding – think Grace is improving each game still but they need to work on other options too)
would be an interesting Magic shooting circle if they recruited Mes/Tui to play alongside Khiarna Williams next year
in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 9 #1326572an extra team, or extend squads back to 12 – though that doesn’t help get the likes of Tui on the court…
and just to throw it out there – maybe an 8th team could be a mens team? then no bye round
(and could also have that in the NNL too with a max age limit – will give the teen boys something to strive for seeing as their pathway somewhat ends when they get to high school in most places)
has worked wonders for the silverferns – so why not take it to the two levels below that too
 :unsure:in reply to: 2021 ANZP ROUND 9 #1326409maybe put Fenwick in at GS? has experience at this level in the shooting circle, added height and strong rebounder for TPSR to take the majority of the shots..

in reply to: 2021 SSN ROUND 1 #1322622Seeing McKinnis quietly thinking “well I made Thwaites a GA, can I make Kumwenda a GA???”
back when both she and Mes played for the Tactix they used to switch between the two positions regularly

in reply to: Coronavirus and netball #1318373Wellington Phoenix have just had someone come in who is an international (somewhere in Europe) along with his wife and 3 kids – as well as international sports teams, so I can’t see CBass, Woulf (sp) having any issues – and I believe that anyone from the UK/US has to have a negative test before they even board a plane – so Fisher should be okay if they’ve planned it well – although knowing over here female sport isn’t as important as mens’ so may have to jump through more hoops (like Marshall not being allowed back last year)
in reply to: CENTRAL PULSE 2021 #1317767TB she’s only just passed her ‘allowed to run’ milestone – was on Magics FB yesterday – so guessing she’ll take the full season to get it right
