in reply to: 2022 ANZP Tipping Comp – Round 4 #1339134
Mystics -7
Pulse@Maryann – I actually think they are stronger without her – definetely not having any issues in there with Jury & Manua currently (even if I am not a fan!!), throw Elliot in when she’s right and there’s nothing lost at all
@Maryann I was more meaning the defence across the whole competition – I was going to add about Nweke and Bird really being the only 2 single position players but realised I was running late for work lol
over here the tp’s (an NNL players) put their hand up to go into a pool that can be used by any team if required – Greer Sinclair (stars tp) played for Mystics in the first round and then has played for Stars the past two weeks – if it can keep the games going, I think it actually shows their versatility and commitment to the sport – but in saying that I think it’s if 4 players in a team are out then it can be deferred (as we’ve seen a few times already) but it seems the NZ players/teams all seem to be branches of one big happy family so that may contribute to it working
interesting is all I can say about that… although I can’t really recall seeing her ever play more than just GK (and even that she did rather poorly last year)
as for the silverferns, she has been surpassed and well and truely left behind by most defence in the comp now (and I’m not sure there is any (correct me if I’m wrong) that only play one position)
in reply to: 2022 SSN ROUND 1 #1338711I only had the stats up, but was astounded at the number of penalties – both NZ games today were 39/38 and 36/35 – and not a huge difference score wise (with no supershots) – this game 87/69 and swifts at 77 yesterday
in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 3 #1338640I picked stars for the win based on Fisher not ever quite getting it over Harrison last season – ahwell should be a good game none the less
in reply to: New streaming service for Super Netball #1338378kinda frustred about this too – maybe they’re all just pissy because SKYNZ provided better coverage to both the Super Netball and Super League than their counterparts (full, all games, uninterrupted, not late starting, not cutting off early coverage)

in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 2 #1338176I think she is unlucky that there are such an abundance of top WD’s at the moment (a bit like Ioane, and I guess quite a few others over the years) as I think she could be awesome as a SF (she plays a bit like Jolene Henry in my opinion) and thought she was really hard done by not to get into the development squad (was the only WD that totally marked Toeva out’ve the game last year and hope she can do it again tonight) has shown she’s not afraid to put in the hard work, but sadly may never get the ultimate reward for it!!
in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 2 #1338173@WeWood as much as I like Georgie – the WA’s for the NNL team are probably better options for the Magic at the moment(Simmone and Ngawai) she may get there but she does need far more game experience first rather than chucking her in the deep end like they did yesterday
and I think that was Savai’inaea the got picked by pulse as an in circle D while she was still at school, sat on the bench and then got dropped to Beko and now she’s a bloody good WD for the Steel
in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 2 #1338151@Cb98 I was just talking about the Magic coaching with my mum, it’s been the issue for years – started with Marg Forsythe – she wasn’t great at that level – Amigene was her assistant, and we know how that turned out, and now we’ve got MJ whoh was her assistant – can they not see that using the assistant for a (I use this term loosely) failed coach doesn’t work?? this year all they needed was a strong WA recruited and Magic would’ve been away laughing… is it too late to steal Dan and Chelsea???
I usually like to try to see the positives when it comes to Magic, but it’s been the same for how many years now? and I honestly wouldn’t blame Sam if she looked at different options for next year if this keeps up
in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 2 #1338141@nachosreturn – they should’ve learnt that last year!! and agree about Magic needing Tong/Maihi on
I’m all for Manu’ua going back to aussie – just really unpleasant to watch
in reply to: 2022 ANZP ROUND 2 #1338108@Nate – yep those are the ones, the only thing I have to praise them for yesterday is not using the ‘coach killer’ comment which others do constantly (both here and OZ/UK) I’d quite like to hear Nigel when it’s not the Mystics to see how he goes. I always thought Jenny Woods was bad with her Auckland bias – but so far this year they make her seem almost neutral!!
though in complaining about the commentators – I really am just happy that netball is back!!
